If you believe in God and the stories depicted in the Bible, then you believe in demons. If you don't believe in demons, then there is some doubt it you on the authenticity of the Bible - that is completely fine, we all struggle in different areas. However, evidence of demons is most well supported in research of pagan cultures, and even modern demonology today.
More or less, ancient "pagan" cultures all had some form of contacting and worshiping spirits. All of them are named differently, of course, but they often share the same symbolism and ritualistic practice - all dating back from Nimrod, the symbolized sun god of Babylon, aka Lucifer. The Incas, Aztecs, and the Egyptians are renowned for their sorcery and human sacrifice. The parallels between all of these cultures is astonishing. Teachings from these ancient cultures are used by Luciferians today; likewise, people today are able to harness the supernatural powers granted to those who please Satan and his demons. Great power, but also grieving demise are upon these people today.
Are ALL proclaimed insane people today actually possessed by demons? No... It doesn't seem so.
Are they influenced by them? I would believe so...
Are SOME people insane because they are possessed by demons? Yes, if they allow it.
Is demon possession real aside from clinical insanity? Yes.
There is no bounds to the amount of evidence you can find online if you are willing to look into it far enough; however, I would not suggest it. Be assured: demonic existence, influence, and power to those who submit is a definite.
Gee you've raised some interesting points. You've triggered me to do some research. But I do have an expert in psychiatry - my mum. Now I'd be very interested to here what the church has done in controlled and verifiable research in this area. My mum is clear that for all the cases in our country that such occurrences has been related to a mental health disorder. Now mum is really respected at this but noone is a library on psychology and sprituality (with all respect to my fantastic mum). How does one even prove its a demon. I've never heard of any real case, though I am not doubting people's or the bibles claims - its just that - how has christianity over the years kept pace with the knowledge on mental health disorders and discriminated with sureity that we are not talking mental health pathology but a demon
Because you can't command an immortal sentient being to take part in a research study.
There is no way to do controlled or verifiable research about any supernatural phenomenon - including the existence of a creator God.
A large majority of the time someone talks about a potential demon, I'm concerned there may be a mental health issue. I've also met some who have absolutely no mental health issues at all who have had experiences that are not scientifically explainable (some good, some bad). Faith itself isn't something you can explain through science.
A literal interpretation of scripture will save you a lot of confusion here. Most of the people I've known with experiences of the supernatural kind do not talk about them often, so you won't meet many who are sane and admit to having them.
Ive talked about this with a few friends. Have you ever been at home, or maybe walking in a park, or anywhere you are alone...and suddenly become quite frightened. This happened to me when I was walking my dog in the bush at night - I normally love doing it because its quiet n smells lovely. For some reason I got spooked...like the feeling of GET OUT. So I run. But even as I'm running I am thinking hey its just your brain. Its not a ghost or blair witch thing. Its this tiny part of our brain that was very active when we were just three years old. Its kinda sweet that we are all still basically small frightened kids when it comes down to it.
I know a lot though who do believe in ghosts or demons. My mother whose has a lot of expertise in this would say that those who act possessed have a mental health disorder that responds well to treatments. I also know though that the bible and some churches refer to demons. I am not sure myself if they are real and think for the 99.99% its more about a mental health issue. As for freaking out about ghosts - well I don't believe in that either. I think its sweet that inside me I still have this three year old that can get scared for no reason though.
