You're welcome. It's possible that us trying NOT to sin can never please God (what can anyway?), but I'm sure He appreciates the effort. [James 4:7-10] But the other extreme is willingly sinning, like boasting you can be BOTH a Christian AND gay. the words "I'm gay" should be part of our repentance, and not be in the vocabulary of a born again christian anymore. It's possible to sin, even after being born again, but in no way should that sin be a part of our IDENTITY anymore: dead to the former self, alive in Christ! Amen.
I mean, could Mary of Magdelene (so to speak) call herself a "christian prostitute" after her encounter with Jesus? No, because He told her to sin no more, and that means not just "trying to do the right thing" but a complete change of life. [John 8:11]
Absolutely does, it is the beginning of coming to the end of the energy of our own flesh.
The one's that do come to understand the new life in the Spirit are the one's that truly do not want to sin. God knows this and thus reveals himself to those that are sincere, and these find the:
Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is
crucified with
him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was
crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
Galatians 2:20 I am
crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth,
crucified among you?
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have
crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is
crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
You asked, how? by trust in God and believing he did take away all sin in his sight through Son Chirst. So that he can give you new life in the Spirit by the resurrected Christ. And we learn to walk as he walked in 100% dependence on Father's lead through the Holy Spirit the same Holy Spirit sent on Pentecost to all that beleive
It is not over, still sent as a free gift from God the Father by belief
