Nice try. I am not misinterpreting anything, just quoting what it plainly states. You cannot understand the message of scripture simply by taking some texts and applying them literally, the bible was not meant to be understood that way
Sure it was (see 2 Corinthians 3:12 (kjv)).

How do you interpret 1 John 3:9 so that it comes into alignment with the verses in 1 Peter 2?
My own opinion is the verse is referring to a lifestyle of sin, the person would not be concerned as to the sin they were committing. Obviously, the verses in 1Peter would refer to people who have shown much change in their lives, and Peter is pointing out other things they need to be rid of

How about this?

In 1 John 3:9, the context is that "sin is the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4) so John may not have been referring to what Peter spoke of in his epistle when he spoke of sin?

Of course, the broader definition of "law" as it pertains to "law and gospel" is that it is every moral tenet that can be found in holy scripture.

I will say that I believe that when the Gentile believers that we read about in Acts 15 were converted, that God "purified their hearts by faith" (Acts 15:9).

If Peter gave practical teaching on what it means to be born again in his epistle, I don't think that he was saying that those who are born again generally bear the attributes of sin that he spoke of in those verses.

May I ask, do you believe Jesus commands in the Gospels are inferior to the ten commandments? Jesus did speak the words of God on this earth. Do believers commit sin if they do not obey Jesus commands, or are the perfect in your view if they ignore any?

So you are prepared to accept people have been born again if they have:
malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

Just as Jesus brake the sabbath (John 5:18) in order that he might be obedient to a higher law; so believers in Christ are told to "walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:4) and this is defined not by the letter of specific commandments; but by the spirit of what was spoken of by Jesus (Romans 7:6).

So now the letter is not so important. That is convenient for you isn't it

You have to discern what is written through the Holy Spirit
So, you are saying that I am not doing that?

I am learning as I go along.

We may have disagreements now; but if I see what you are saying in my regular reading of the word, I will change my point of view.

You will not change your mind, no matter what I quote or say. Hardly anyone on these kinds of websites ever does, but in your case, I would say it was definite, you will always seek an answer to explain away what disagrees with your own point of view

Then you are in blatant contradiction of Peter's words, and it does not matter how you try and get round it that is the truth
I think that you are not understanding what regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, actually is.

It makes me wonder if you are even saved.

I will pray for you.

It is my style that I will stick to my arguments to the very end until I am proven wrong.

I have also changed my mind on certain points in times past when I found what the other person was saying later in my personal reading of God's word.

I don't mean this offensively, but what anyone thinks on the internet as to whether I am saved or not is irrelevant to me.

So let me ask you, do you perfectly obey the law relating to the inner man, the law only you and God need know you break? If you say yes, I will not believe you, and I doubt anyone else would either

No; those things are not characteristic of those who have been born again.

Think about what those things would really be in the life of a Christian.

You are saying that someone who has truly been regenerated and renewed in the Holy Ghost can exhibit such attributes?

1Jo 2:29, If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
