Funny guy gets the woman?

I don't know who is Dr. Seuss but I know someone who is a popular love counselor named Dr. Des

Well, I don't know who Dr. Des is??? But Dr. Seuss and Robin Williams are really not my idea of funny or humorous. They fall more along the lines of corny, in my opinion. I don't know what Dr. Seuss looked like but Robin Williams was definitely not my opinion of attractive.

I like more of the cool sense of humor, quick witted, and a little sarcastic even. I also think I would have to be somewhat attracted to a guy physically, no matter how much they make me laugh. Also not in to rich guys. They are usually too entitled and spoiled.

Everyone has a different sense of humor, sense of physical attraction, and attraction toward different attitudes. So really I guess, the old saying stands true....too each their own.

I've never watched any of Robin William's movies so I don't know how funny he is... But there is one guy from "Rush hour" an american comedy actor by the name of Chris Tucker that i like lol he is quite a funny guy. I like his voice and his funny face expressions

This is true, some people set our hearts racing and others are like plain looking in our eyes no matter how beautiful or handsome they are...

An intelligent man can become a very accomplish scammer swindling millions out of investors and end up getting tracked down by a professional hitman, hired by one of the people he scammed and wind up in a hidden grave in secluded part of a national park..

I think the person you described is not an intelligent person if he used his intelligence to lie,swindle,steal and hurt people...

Yeah, Chris is funny. I like Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore....that type of humor may be a little over the top for some folks. But I had a total crush on him after watching that movie, but have saw him in other movies that I did not find as funny, and I have no attraction to him. So maybe you're on to something here.

I always hear these words "I like someone who has good sense of humour" Humour matters more than good looks? which do you find more attractive in a man/woman? Good looks or good sense of humour?

Can a funny woman gets the guy too? Or it is only the other way around...

Being funny certainly helps makes a man more attractive to women, but it's not a guaranteed way to a woman's heart... And if he tries too hard to be funny it can backfire like this soda bottle..

meh why do looks even matter, I mean, dont people lose their looks, sight and hearing anyway. People can lose their humour too, nobody is funny ALL the time.

I would think faith is the most important, i,e their heart.

Laughter makes the best medicine!!! I know most women if not all want a funny guy, who wouldn’t? I am mostly portrayed serious even though my heart doesn’t feel the same. Weird I know I rarely tell jokes but I’ll make a funny comment every now and then and like to be silly.

This makes me think though why do women look for humor more than men? Am I wrong in my thinking?

I guess humour (if it isn’t rude or nasty) gives a code of friendliness. It is like why do we smile? In animals it is generally a display of aggression to show ones teeth.
However smiling tends to make us females appear more attractive to males - generalising of course.
I suppose that if a man seems to keep wanting to make a woman laugh, he must like the look of her smile ... and implies he cares about her happiness... that would naturally impress her.

Then, secondly, laughing sets off chemicals in her brain that make her feel safe. I imagine that is Quite important in seeking a spouse, as having someone show interest while behaving in a serious manner can be a little un-nerving if you don’t know them that well. Also you haven’t the added influence of those happy laughter chemicals when you are with them, to make you want more of that person.

Males, I think, are “happy” around a woman if they like what they see - isn’t that a well known fact? - but if the woman makes them unhappy in other ways, that eventually takes its toll and puts them off her.

The reverse of this can true though if the person has had a bad enough experience with a “ funny/fun” person. (Equally the same goes for any other naturally attractive qualities.)

Neuroscience and hormones lol that’s who we can blame for all this!

What do you think about it? Would you think funny women are more attractive to men than serious ones?

I guess too funny becomes not funny when it’s all the time though... it can become a thorn if you end up with a guy or girl who makes you laugh one day and weep the next because they can’t be serious about anything.

I think tickling the funny bone isnt usually done for ulterior reasons, though fact is a lot of comediens say they were the class clown or the funny one at school to stop themselves from being bullied.

It certainly diverts the focus. Im guessing if people are being too serious its just too intimidating to get to know them. You want somehow to break the ice. I dont think its chemicals. Its more like shaking things up or loosening it up. When people laugh its actually not something they can control.

Endorphins .. dopamine... oxytocin etc all work to help us feel peaceful and happy and calm... as opposed to fight or flight , anxious, fearful etc. Yes I think safe is appropriate.

These are why we feel calmer after we “comfort eat”, Feel better after a good cry, what bonds new mums with their baby, and why we like laughter and by default people who make us laugh.

if someone is frequently making us feel good it is natural to want to spend more time together... and often one thing leads to another and... well hopefully that leads to marriage before anything physical of course or for those of the same sex, a life long friendship would be an awesome result instead

Totally agree people don’t always deliberately intend to attract others or even desire to impress them. It can really help to lighten the atmosphere and make socialising Less awkward too

I notice on here when people add a little humour in the threads it really keeps moral up in the posts and helps things stay friendly. I appreciate that on a rubbishy day too.
