I'm certain 99% of men, wouldn't have stuck around their marriage if they went through what I went through.
I was in the 1%. It was my horrible X who initiated the divorce. She cheated on me, physically and verbally abusive, never cooked or cleaned even though she was able to stay home and not work because I made enough to live on. World class slob. 6 1/2 years of torture that ended in July 1984. Thank God.

how long ago did this happen? did you have an affair?
The issue is really just about the state of the heart, not necessarily who did what. So if you listen to the talk, it's about 15 minutes long. Did you have a question about that? It's super excellent. John Piper's got a golden father's pastor's heart.

Merely an observation with significant explanatory capacity. ;)
Tomato...tahmahto.
I'm not actually being critical, but we all have bitterness in our hearts that remains until we truly forgive and exercise love.

Waiting on the Lord... ain't easy by any stretch. Isolating oneself and loneliness can be killers.

Waiting on the Lord needn't be a time of isolation and inactivity. We are still to do the things we know to do. We are to occupy until He comes. It is often as we are faithful in promoting the kingdom that God is working out His will for us.

And ramping up your exercise routine isn't a bad idea too. My friend who does a lot of fitness training taught me a very cool exercise for working on your abs.

Difficult weekend guys?
Went to church twice on two different days and in the first church I had to leave early because there was a woman who I felt some compromised feelings with. ....

....and then the second day I went to church and a sister sat me down and wagged her finger in my face. She actually had some really good things and we spoke foreign language so that no one else could know what we were talking about. But she scolded me and my wife who wasn't there ... and gave me some interesting advice..... howeva

... And then my pastor called me later in the day and kind of disagreed with the advice. 😂

When you got a marriage that looks shaky everybody's got an opinion with the best intentions. Nonetheless, we have to listen and weigh through and in the final analysis we've gotta go up the mountain and talk to God

....and when we get it written in stone, hopefully when we go back down the mountain, we don't have a different mess to deal with where afterwards we've gotta grind down the golden calf and make our partner drink the water with gold dust.
😬

PS have you ever had champagne with gold floating around in it? If you have, how did it make you feel? Just an amusing off the cuff question to see what y'all think.

We could easily start a new forum just for separated men only to get more advice and join in prayer with other men on how to be faithful to the Lord and to your separated wife during the separation.
The bible does say that its good to separate from your wife for a season but come together again unless the devil would take advantage of the relationship. 1 Corinthians 7:5,
