All right, Everyone.

It Be Truth Tellin' Time!!

We've been talking about a number of things that single guys (and gals!) do:

https://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/ya-might-be-a-single-guy.219662/#post-5538326

And it seems to be a well-known fact -- perhaps even an expectation -- that singles who are by themselves are going to take their beverages straight: as in, STRAIGHT from the container, and then put it right back in the fridge.

Who needs a glass, mug, or other utensil as a time-wasting extra step?

Not us singles!!

And so, this poses a most pressing social and ethical dilemma: WHAT HAPPENS IF COMPANY COMES OVER??!

Let's go to the poll and see what people say!

Poll answers are multiple choice with visible answers, so there is NOWHERE to hide!!!

I have a feeling that after this poll, we're all going to have an idea of whose place is -- and IS NOT -- safe to visit (unless you don't eat or drink ANYTHING while you're there.):oops:o_O

I don’t drink from the container when I’m in my home or in some kind of quarters, or to be exactly honest, not doing that if I’m in a place with a roof and walls. Outdoors is another matter.

I have strict rules at home which are enforced harshly. No messy rooms, dishes or hygienic discrepancies. No laundry on the floor. I’m pretty OCD about that.

I am guilty of this and even admitted so here on this forum. The only ones whoever come over to my house are my parents or sisters. When something is planned and they come over I just buy whatever they plan to drink. However, still does not stop me to open the ice box and pull out the milk and take a swig.

Never stops my mother either from seeing me doing so and say I have no clue why you do that. Something she has said to a me a hundred times already. That is the beauty of mothers they are never deterred by the amount of times they may have already said something or how old you get. They still practice that mothers prerogative to vocalize their disapproval..........LOL

@seoulsearch how can you expose us this way 🤫. Imagine I was crushing on someone now 😁.
Repentance is accepted right. We are Christians.
I don't think I would ever want to do that again🤦

Well since I mainly drink water or homemade tea and the pitcher isn't so convenient to drink straight out of I usually use a glass. So my solutions are 1) get a cup the size of a small pitcher and drink out of it (I think my go to cup holds 32 oz)
2) if there were a situation where there was a bottle that I'd drunk out of and people were coming over.... if there's only a little left finish the bottle, if there's too much to finish, wipe off the rim and say a prayer that any germs don't make people sick (now if someone with known immune issues was coming over and not bringing their own stuff, I'd probably get them a brand new bottle).

Also ill tempered pets can discourage visitors if you don't want to deal with too many visitors. And they need good homes too so it's a win win for a certain kind of single.

There is cold filtered water and ice dispensed from the fridge. I always pour milk in a glass even though no one else I know drinks milk. It seems to taste better in a glass. I put my diet soda in a glass too with ice. No one else I know drinks diet soda either. I don't drink alcoholic beverages so there isn't any.

Nobody in my family drinks water from the tap. I buy distilled water in gallon jugs. I drink out of the gallon jugs because I'm the only one here.

But there is one gallon jug always sitting on the kitchen counter. Right by the sink. Right under the glasses. Can't miss it. Untouched.

I haven't thought about this before, but this is very true. An ill-tempered or a bigger/scary type dog. This is one reason I haven't visited one friend even though I wanted to see her...so it is good and bad I guess.

The only thing we swig straight from the jar is pickle juice. That's to stop muscle cramping. When your muscle cramps wake you up and the pain is excruciating, you don't have time nor the state of mind to pour some pickle juice into a class and drink it.

Aside from that one exception, we have a civilized household.

I think you'll be safe here.

But the ice cream container in the freezer? .. I eat straight from the container. You might want to bring your own!

datzphunnneee! & use their bedroom!!! hahahaha!

I always keep extra bottles of swiggle-worthy refreshments to share with other swigglers.
Also, I keep a crystal tumbler set—for the ‘proper swigglers.’.

Missed your comment FT, doubt many of your friends are the precious/over fussy type either. Who would probably faint if they thought about what's in the air they share with fellow humans.

Think most of us are sensible enough to know that if you have cold sores or an infection etc, offer them a glass or cup.

Cracked up laughing, definitely further than i'd go but for crying out loud! If snogging others is ok, what on earth is the prob with sharing a few swigs from the same bottle, glass, can etc? Do we need portable oxygen tanks so we don't have to breathe in what others have first etc?

Reasonable hygiene is essential but i do think some become so safety conscious, it's actually injurious to a healthy immune system.
