Hi I'm a 16 year old girl seeking prayer and advice.
Here is my story. I never understood being saved and until last summer I wasn't. I was turning into a bad child here recently cursing and things when I look back I was stupid. But last uer about this time I started going to church with my grandparents. I didn't go to the youth group because I was shy and didn't know me. But a few weeks before they were to leave for church camp the youth pastor asked me if I anted to go because someone else could not. I see now that it was Gods way of calling me to him. One day at camp I felt drawn to asked my youth pastor about salvation. I remember the very spot it happened. Under a tree by a beautiful creek. Her walked me through the ABCs and o had the best day of my life. I look up to my pastor so much. More than he knows. In fact I never have told him how big of an influence he has been on me. I know attend church regularly every Sunday and Wednesday. My mom and dad do not attend and I wish and pray that they would. My dad seems to criticize me about everything. And curse at me which really offends me. My mom seems to be bipolar at times. Through all this stuff and things haunting my past I'm trying my hardest to stay true to my God and follow him. I believe the devil is fighting to get me back in his hands.
Thanks
( I may think of more to add. Please excuse spelling and grammar. I typed it all on a phone. I did a longer one but deleted it and made it shorter)

I just need advice on how to stay strong and prayers and even Bible verses. I just had a bad day and any of this will make me feel better.

hey, first off welcome to CC. I hope you are enjoying it so far! =]. Secondly what you did takes a lot of bravery and courage. It's never easy taking the first step, but once you get the ball rolling it gets easier over time. Make sure you tell your pastor that they've helped you more than you could ever thank them. Not only is that blessing, but it also helps break the ice in a new environment. Also remember a simple smile can go along way.

I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers though! As far as strong advice goes; Take one step at a time, even if it's baby steps. In the end, the tiny steps you've taken will add up to larger steps. :). God will never give you more than he knows you can handle at a time. Stay strong, believing is one thing, but if you believe in yourself as well. Say things like: I know i can (instead of I think I can). Makes a huge difference. Being positive, instead of thinking towards the negative side also helps greatly. (I know that can be hard to do though at times). But do it in sections and it's a lot easier. (personal experience talking on that for sure). Take care of yourself and God bless!!

Concerning staying strong, its about you being close to God and letting Him direct you. The bible has all the advice we could ever need, so read it and ask God to help you understand it. And finally fellowship with other Christians, as even when you are tired or doing have the strength, they will be there for you. God bless

If the devil had any power, he would have stopped you from getting saved. You're safe now and forever :)
You're like a chicken, and God is like a hen; He's covering you with His wings like a hen would with her chick for protection.

Also, a verse for you: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." I'm willing to bet you've heard that verse at least once. Generic, I know. But this is the most awesome display of God's love for us that we'll ever know on earth. Let His love for you be your strength. God's love for you never changes. When all else fails, His love does not.

hi kay
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Sometimes when i'm looking for certain types of scriptures i'll google it. Try googling 'encouraging scriptures'. And also just keep your nose in your bible.
Also, there is a prayer forum, lots of good praying people in there. Might consider posting there for additional prayers.

The devil is a bluffer. Jesus will protect you. Leave this situation in His hand and rest into His arms. He is always the winner. Prayer changes every circumstances. If Christ is in you , you are strong and more than a winner. No matter what happen, stay close to Jesus. God bless you.

well you can always read my personal favorite. Isaiah 40:31 which reads "They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles and, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and never faint." God promises us eternal strength as long as we seek him. Being faithful to HIM means we are being faithful to ourselves, for if we live by the Lords word we are sure to be living a righteous life. He NEVER leaves us and he will NEVER EVER LET US GO. remember that we do not hold up the Lord for it is HE who holds us up with his righteous hand and He leads us unto all truth. if you feel that you are letting Him down, dont. i have been in your shoes, i felt as if i was letting down God by not bringing my sister to Him but i soon grew to see that MAN will never bring us to God, it is God who brings us to him USING MAN as his microphone. Just as he used his son to show the world how great His love is for us.
hope some of this helps you, and i will pray for you and your family. God will use you in your family, stand fast and never let the devil keep you down for it will be our God who renews your strength so you may continue to fight.
