I’ve been feeling very apathetic these days. I’m not sure why but I don’t feel like I can connect with anyone anymore. I feel apathy about these intrusive thoughts that I should care more about and I feel apathy towards God a little bit and people. I’m questioning if I even care about my family anymore because I feel nothing towards the bad thoughts I’ve been having. I can’t say I’m completely apathetic but I feel I should care more. I used to be way more caring. I’m just super irritable sometimes. Im not depressed and I really have been feeling like I’m gonna be stuck here for a while. I guess it’s a little better than me feeling anxiety toward thoughts that bothered me like it used to.

There can be any number of things that cause or bring on apathy … But rather than trying to guess… or ask questions, the most effective way to deal with it (if you want to eradicate from your life) is to talk to the one who knows you the best…..

Lay it out to Him…. He knows your heart, He knows your life.... your likes, dislikes, and all the things that make you tick … And He is there for you… to meet your needs, to bless your life… and He will help and direct you back into the living the richest life possible …. filled with love, with joy, with thankfulness, and peace, to walk in the newness of life.

You say you aren't depressed, while describing depression.

Seems like your minds way of dealing with anxiety.

Anxiety is awful. Apathy is no fun, but at least you can sleep at night. And small wonder with how insanely screwed up our Nation/Culture has become. Not to mention all the perils of social media these days.

This is exactly the time to draw closer to the Lord through reading His Word, and prayer. But don't trust your feelings, trust Him. Feelings come and go. Truth is eternal. And the Truth is you are greatly loved. Meditate on that.

I'll pray your feelings line up with truth. Be blessed.

@ the intrusive thoughts, how do you mean? Or how exactly would you describe them?
I also think that the fact that you're struggling with your spiritual life and walk with God is making you feel this way...
Please do not stop praying about it, no matter how weak and short the prayer may be...
God will help you, Amen.

I get like a lot of unwanted thoughts that are violent and perverted of basically almost everything and anyone. They aren’t just words or phrases but a lot of them are images like when you imagine something. I also at some point had strong urges to speak against God and I didn’t I tried my best to resist it but it was strange. And I had a cursing of God in the back of my mind the gd curse word. Someone said I could have religious ocd but imnnot sure. I’ve had anxiety about God’s existence and it’s not fun. Imnnot exactly sure what is going on with me.

Is it a recent occurrence or has been happening for a long time now?

Ok...
But have you tried praying about it, or spoken to a trusted and a genuine as well as matured Christian about it? You know, someone that can pray with you about it, and advice you soundly about it?
Like someone from the local assembly you belong to?

I’ve tried praying, I haven’t really spoken to anyone about it though.

Ok, you'll be in my prayers, but please try speaking to someone about it.
Do you belong to a local assembly?

God says we get faith by hearing or reading the word of God (the Bible). Romans 10;17. Sounds like you have a faith problem. If you want to know more about God the Father, read the Old Testament; if you want to know more about Jesus , read the New Testament. The more you read the Bible, the more you WANT to read the Bible. Try reading about the mighty works of God— like the flood, or the plagues in Egypt, the battles in Joshua, or Gideon, Samson, Ehud and Deborah in the book of Judges. Ruth and Esther are both wonderful stories. You will get to know God and see Him in action.
In the New Testament study the life of Christ in the first 4 books of the New Testament. And then thrill to the stories of the first converts in the book of Acts.
God is the answer to your apathy. Try it for yourself.
