Do you have rules in your family
If so what are they, and what happens if you break those rules
Does everyone know what they are and who enforces them...are they written down anywhere?
do you rememeber what they were?we actually had a laminated list on the fridge when the kids were little.
and they knew very well what happened when they broke them, enforced by mom and dad.
they're all grown, now, and are wonderful humans, thanks be to God and not us.![]()
I am sure the you and your husband played a most important part in the upbringing of your children. Of course, thanks to God as well.we actually had a laminated list on the fridge when the kids were little.

how many siblings did you have and was it the same rules for everyone. How many tvs and phones did you have. There were tons of rules in my family growing up. Most revolved around no backtalk, finishing homework before TV, doing our chores, no cursing, being polite to elders and family friends, helping our parents without whining, not arguing with our siblings, practicing our musical instruments, keeping our rooms clean, going to bed when told, being home before curfew, taking care of our things, not messing up the house, etc. They weren't written down; we were just told. If we broke the rules, we usually were grounded (not allowed out except school and church for a period of time, depending on the severity of our 'crime') or had priveledges withheld such as no phone, no TV, no dessert, etc. Both parents enforced them.
what, no Golden Rule?Only 2 rules at my house:
1. Dad is always right
2. For clarity on any matter, see rule #1
Thats a rule? Everywhere I go its always down, unless you are meaning the lid that goes on top of the seat. Nobody likes to sit on the rim.The rule I must follow is to leave the toilet seat up.
Households are not democracies. Dad's are accountable for how children are raised. Sort of like a benevolent dictator.what, no Golden Rule?
do you rememeber what they were?
How long was the list?
What actually did happen? Telling off? spanking? Frowny face?
Teachers love to laminate things lol
It doesnt mean that what they laminate will be rèad though, and laminate does fade. Who here had parents who were also teachers?
hmm well I never learned much from my parentsALL parents are teachers of their children.
I would have loved to live in the garage, and have a space for myself.not too long. big print. if one of the kiddos hadn't leaned to read yet, the others made sure they knew what it said.
things like obey God (numero uno), be kind in word and deed, clean up after yourself.
they were put out of the house and made to live in the garage for disobeying the rules, of course.![]()
I thought the golden rule was a Christian one and worked in any regime. lolHouseholds are not democracies. Dad's are accountable for how children are raised. Sort of like a benevolent dictator.
Sure. It's understood as the basis for all other.I thought the golden rule was a Christian one and worked in any regime. lol
