Family Nights

Good morning, Cameron Do you have relatives living near-by? Perhaps making
time to spend with extended family is a good way to build relationships, also

I was born and raised in a rather large family (I have ten siblings), and we were
almost always visiting some relatives or another on a Sunday afternoon and perhaps
staying for dinner, or having them over to visit with us and stay for dinner While
the adults visited with each other the kids would often play board games

Thanks for responding. I'm also from a large family but none are nearby. My family is also large. We have done family nights for years and I'm looking to keep it fresh so looking for new ideas. Again thanks.

This is a great family (team work/relationship building) game.
Using 3 dice Pac Man moves around the board.
Using the draw of cards the ghosts work together to move around the board and capture Pac Man. It even has the dot munching sound effects (when you push down on the pac man piece)
It takes my family (of 5) at least 2 hours to fully play (because my kids think everyone needs a turn playing Pac Man and scoring to see who gets the highest score and wins. Pac Man is the only piece that scores points).

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who responded. I was blessed both to know that so many families still spend time together and by the suggestions that have been given.
I changed my avatar to a picture of one of our family nights. We painted pumpkins. This has become a yearly tradition for us.
In the past we used actual pumpkins but this year I found some styrofoam ones. I am proud to report my youngest son who normally just uses orange paint to paint his pumpkin was much more creative this year.

Yahtzee, Dominoes (several variations), and lately, Ticket To Ride.

Camel Up and Settlers of Catan make frequent appearances too.

Those are good games!

After church my family always have lunch together. Shopping together. We do have games once a week or watching movies together.. or visit families members on the weekends . May I ask, who’s in the middle in the your picture look like Asian.. your kid?

That's my stepdaughter...she is Malaysian.

You are welcome I have no siblings near-by, either, and my parents are both deceased...

My daughter lives close, though. She was always big on playing some kind of game
following a festive family dinner, such as Christmas or Easter or Thanksgiving. It
simply is not the same since her dad passed away just over a year ago... We mostly
played card games like or something like Balderdash, which was always hilarious.
Or Trivial Pursuit type games. We tried some new ones she got as gifts from friends,
but they were very complicated and took a long time to learn and play skillfully

And his, too, apparently But thank you. My(/our) daughter was devastated.

And I'm always a believer in simple is better. Perhaps that's where my affinity for checkers comes from.

I enjoy any game that moves quickly. I get bored easily. Today I would probably be diagnosed as ADHD. When I was young that was just called being a boy.
