some of these preachers and such, I have to wonder if they teach how to talk in college, they all sound the same no matter what they preach. (we call it King jimmyese..lol)

there are certain denoms, that when someone preaches...the voice rises and falls...rises and falls...almost on cue

they must teach inflection

the purpose was this- to point out the difference between truth ( no one is perfect and sinless, and being willing to say it) and fake stuff like saying or implying that ones does not sin. one is truth, the other is a lie. we Christians should always stand on the side of truth. hope that helped.
Yes, it did. That's why I left open another spot for "stuff I can't think of." lol

i don't like that phrase either. The truth is we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
You're not supposed to like it. You did not like it when you were told you were a sinner and needed to be saved in the first place.

You are positionally the righteousness of Christ but the is future not present possession. When you receive your glorified body then you will actually have the righteousness on Christ. You are a sinner saved by grace until you are glorified together with Christ in eternity.

Ever read the gospels? There were a group of men who did this very thing, They were called pharisees.
Yes, & they were haters too, spewing their hatred on anyone that doesn't agree with them.

I think in today's terminology they would be spiritual thugs saying whatever & doing whatever to get their way. Uneducated, brutish people, who cares more about what they believe than what is written in Scripture. They will twist anybody's words, even Jesus, to win others to their side.

Wow, that's a really acurate self-assessment. God can change you though if you will let Him.

The phrase "I'm a sinner saved by grace" sickens me, it really disgusts me. Why? Because Jesus suffered & died for us to become the Sons of God, & instead of agreeing with God, they claim sinnership instead of Citizenship.

Paul said "by the grace of God I am what I am". He also said he was "made an apostle by the Lord Jesus Christ".

He DID claim he fell into sin, like we all do..... but we're not "practicing sinners" anymore. It's not our lifestyle any longer.

Now we "press toward the mark", waiting for the calling-up & hauling-up of Jesus, for He alone is able to take us to where He is.

I love & appreciate the Lord..... & to call myself the thing I once was when He came & saved me is like slapping Him in the face when I ought to be on my knees kissing His feet, thanking Him for everything He has done for me.
:)
Yeah but really. If everyone fears admitting sin openly to the bros, I'm still stuck back with "I still sin." I hate feeling alone and frustrated, especially at those moments when I truly believe I'm the only one who still sins. Maybe we should be kissing his feet, but do we as often as we should? AND why would we if we're so sure he stopped us from sinning?

"Press onto the mark!" Thank you. I've been stuck thinking about "the mark" for a couple of days now, and honestly couldn't come up with enough words around that one to find it in scripture. (All I remember was Paul said it.)

The mark is the bullseye! Dead center! Where we are to strive in Mark 12:30-31. BUT all I see are the arrows that missed. Sometimes the arrows are even behind me, I missed so badly. If someone comes off the course and tells me how many bullseyes they got, then I'm left thinking I'm the only one picking up arrows waaaayyyyyyyyyyy over there or behind me. "Bunch of marksmen" is going to make me cower into anywhere-that's-not-near-them, because it's embarrassing seeing how many others keep showing off their bullseyes. There's even a wall of perfect-shots in the building. I've seen it. Paul's name is there. Even Peter had his moment. Me? Nada! Squat! Still looking for the one that went into the parking lot.

And it's deflating also if I can't hear about anyone ever hitting bullseye either.

Is there any particular reason we can't talk about the arrows behind us and the ones that hit dead center in any given conversation? Isn't the idea that he is the one straightening our aim a good enough reason to remember, sometimes we go off with, "I can do it all by my lonesome, so stop helping me?" Or even, "Shoot, Lord. I flinched. Can we try again?"

If I said yes as many times as I wanted to while reading your post, my neighbor's would think something unadulterated was taking place in my home.
Are you hitting those processed, salty, greasy potato chips again, you heathen you? lol

If you know this then why do you hate as you do?

we all can only but fall short of the Glory of God and His Righteousness,
but we can all also give everything that we are to Him, for the glory of His Loving Sacrifice...
if we are privileged to understand such Holiness...
Paul was such a great example...talk about an unbelievable 'turn-around'...

it's definitely the great challenge of our existance, the pulling away and putting off - but, the rewards are
unbelievable and unimaginable...definitely worth every try that we have in us...

How do you know I didn't like it Roger? I remember being so sorrowful for my sins. And I differ with half of what you've posted. I bear His righteousness now because of His blood on my and your behalf. I receive His glory or the fullness of glory at the end of my life for when I see Him, I shall be like Him, for I will see Him as He is.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Amen......Jesus was clear, the bible is clear....there is NOT one JUST MAN on the earth that DOES GOOD and sins NOT....

When they called Jesus GOOD there were numerous SAVED, IMMERSED BELIEVERS who HAD GIVEN FRUIT MEET of REPENTENCE ON THE EARTH as well as JESUS and HE said CLEARLY.....WHY CALL ME GOOD, THERE ARE NONE GOOD BUT GOD.....

LET that sink in for those who say they do not sin.....NONE is the word!

It's clear to me you have a kind, loving heart, and am glad to read your posts.

Having said that, I feel like you have become susceptible to some of the slander that others engage in.

I am coming up on 4 yrs here, and several times a day I read quite a few threads. In ALL that time, I have not come across a single person or post from ANYONE, of ANY doctrine, that said ANYTHING that can even be slightly construed as SIN BEING OK TO ENGAGE IN.

If you have seen any post that claims that from a person I would implore you to please post it so I can ignore that person. Thank you.

Thanks, PennEd for your kind comments and also for asking me that question. You are correct, I didn't see it myself so thanks for the exhortation - please forgive me to all who've read my post.

I have read that many were banned for spreading the grace only doctrine or whatever it is they called it. Maybe that's misinformation as well. There's also the warning in the sticky about there being a problem with this and everyone is forbidden to discuss it.

So I did make some assumptions in my post. I also, as I said only read a hand full of the posts and didn't want to join in. And I saw that someone posted a warning to remind them to not discuss that topic because it's not allowed and that's when I quietly left the room. So I did make some assumptions. So sorry to all who may have been offended. I hope you all can forgive me.

oh yes, DC, the scriptures tell it right out front...

but we so strive to 'sin' less and less in gratitude and thankfulness to our Saviour, every day
of our lives, can you think of a better way to say, THANK YOU FATHER?

I know because scripture tells me. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict men of their sin, Christ's righteousness, and Gods judgment on sin. There is no happiness in hearing that you are a sinner and the wages of sin is death. That is where you must be so that you can see the great gift of eternal life Christ gives through the atonement He made with His own blood.

Our bodies as with all of creation are corrupted by sin. Our bodies must die and be raised by Christ incorruptible but until then we are in this vile body of death.

Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.

Ro 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

For now we sojourn here in this earth and we progress in our sanctification working in us through the Holy Spirit. We have a great hope that lies within us that we will be changed and this corruption will put on incorruption. Until then we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the power might be of God.

i have no problem with your post here Roger, but we once were sinners, lost without hope. We who are His are no longer that which is the reason why I said I didn't like the phrase.

Does it matter what people say, post, or think about what you have posted? NO!!!! Sometimes you (the general you) get likes, sometimes even those rep things and sometimes it’s flack. OY VEY!!! It is what it is! It’s life. I can post on here get a like from one person net post they tell me how wrong I am….lol when we post just like anything else for the Lord no one else’s opinion matters, good or bad. Everything else is ego!

every day, myself, others get attacked because we say that we rely on God's grace and faith in Jesus for salvation. we freely admit that we are not sinless and perfect. my goal everyday is to not sin, but there are days I fall short of that goal.

this is real.

then the fakers show up and lecture us on being wrong for telling the truth. think about this. no one is perfect and sinless, but some people will not say this. amazing. incredible. sad.

so, just wanted to put this out there. please consider what is better. truth, or fake people who reject truth.
my goal everyday is to not sin, but there are days I fall short of that goal. You have days where you don't fall short?!

No worries! Your admission only proves how beautifully your heart responds to situations. You shoulda saw what a jerk I was when I 1st started here. I had some things wrong, but even on the things I had right I didn't display much love.
You do.

To my knowledge, no one has been banned for proclaiming Salvation by Grace alone. THREADS on "hypergrace", a term used for derogatory purposes, by those who don't understand the freedom Christ gave us, have been forbidden. Some try backdoor threads to continuously bring up the subject.

If a post is not only devoid of love, but antagonistic to another person, that is a good sign that what they are saying is not of the Holy Spirit.

Have a Blessed night!

Thanks again for your kind words, PennEd. :)

I also reacted out of the flesh - I wanted to storm out of here a few days ago. I'm just not use to people speaking the way they do in here.

I wanted to leave because of some unkind words that were said to me. Some can sure judge pretty harshly at times.

But I prayed and God
helped me to swallow my pride and get over being hurt. And to forgive them. If I don't forgive I'm holding it in and it continues to harm me and in turn will harm others.

Yes, that was the word I read, hyper-grace. Yes, our point of view can be lopsided at times and we can end up not loving others in the process. Lord forgive us all!

You have a blessed evening as well!
