question. Is the assertion that our faith is imparted or reckoned to us a part of Calvinism or is that a new twist to the original points he espoused? Or does it have nothing to do with Calvinism at all?

Don't know - other than hearing some of the doctrines Calvin espoused, which doctrines I've also found in the Bible apart from Calvin's teachings and happen to agree with, I really do not know much about him - not to say that I would disagree with him I just don't know- so far at least, his interpretations I've heard sound reasonably correct to me. That should not come as a surprise as there is only one salvation plan in the Bible so many people would naturally on their own come to the same conclusions as he did. However, I don't go out of my way to follow him nor anyone else for that matter, nevertheless, instead of trusting external influences or sources, I adhere to the biblical warning extremely seriously that it, and it alone, should be the sole source of and authority for identifying and understanding God's doctrines and gospel nor have I ever found it necessary to do otherwise. Therefore, I believe that nothing outside of the Bible in its entirety, is needed nor to be considered trustworthy for such.

It sounds like an astronomical math equation on my head and I don’t know how to orginaize anything in my thoughts the first computer I saw was a tiny apple with a green screen and all I knew for sure when I saw it and my cousin was showing me how it worked was “ itssssss definately not for me “
now I realize I’ve made a huge error following that path lol but I’d have better luck with a rock or stick

read some of Calvin's commentary on Psalm 119 to confirm what was previously mentioned that he did not understand it to be the Son's prayer for life. Did not read the whole thing. It is way too long for that. Checked some key verses to be sure he did not understand Who was actually praying and he did not. He did the same thing nearly all preachers do and tried to apply it to us or David which never works. He wrote thousands of words to make his points which seemed rather excessive especially since he didn't even know it is the Son's prayer. Still expect to meet him some day, but he did misread Psalm 119.

The part about the Son's faith being reckoned or imputed to us did seem a rather novel concept but was not sure if it came from Calvin or was new. Can't agree that the Son's faith is reckoned or imputed to us for salvation. Faith or believing in the Son is our part in Salvation which comes from within us in response to the Holy Spirit moving our hearts. Thank you for the answer.
I don't understand cars either LOL. But I drive one, and can put gas and oil in it, and discern when something sounds off.
I do have a very basic understanding that computers run on commands that are all basically yes or no.
So people write programs that allow us to do things by telling the program yes or no to something that
is already written in. I may have expressed that wrong. Image files allowed on this web site must have
the extension of being a jpg, a gif, or a png. Those are the allowed file types. Anything else will be an
error and rejected by the site's programming. Same thing with videos allowed: only from youtube, I think.
So if someone wants to post a video from somewhere else, they can only link to it, because the site
program prohibits (does not allow) other media of that type. Videos often come with sound. So that
would be a specific file type, MP3 or MP4, or a wav file, or maybe something else. How our devices
actually decipher those files I do not comprehend beyond it being through some program with all
those yeses and nos turned on or off so we can see and hear what is being presented. I mentioned
designing web pages using a template... that was all text. So I had to learn to read long sequences
seemingly incomprehensible text to look for what was familiar within the code. That text told the
website what to display, just as this site does, and we can change the colour and size and style of text
because the program allows for that and gives us an easy way to do it. Anyways, these text to speech
and speech to text apps operate on the same premise, and create a file you can save to your device and
then add to something else, just like I design an image in photoshop, make it a specific file type so
I can post it here, and then it is displayed because the program knows what to do with what is given.
It is not reckoned for salvation, it is reckoned from/by salvation - salvation first, and from that, faith through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. All things associated to salvation including salvation itself and faith, are fully and completely gifts from an exceedingly gracious God to those for whom He had chosen for it. No one can give salvation to themselves, or they would have then become their own saviour and Christ wouldn't be, but Christ alone is the Saviour. Salvation is far too precious for it to be given in any way other than as a gift which gives the glory for it rightfully to God alone.

He is not. Never was never will be. Your absurd assessment is very common in the Church of today BTW.
Nowadays they think that Jesus was afraid, fragile, weak, frightened, a victim of others who had power over Him, and was the object of betray and a plan gone bad. And that the Jews, Romans and gentiles "killed" Christ. As if you could kill Him who has total control over death and is outside of time.
Hardly. Jesus God had nothing to "prove" in terms of "achieving" some "goal" with regard to obedience that needed to be "earned". Absolutely nothing. And Jesus NEVER had to be "saved"!
His NAME is Salvation. He IS salvation. He PROVIDES it.......He never ever "needs" it for Himself.
He DID however have much to DEMONSTATE (such as His perfect obedience) as part of the inspection demands of the Passover Lamb.
Along the same line of thinking:
Jesus God was NOT "tempted" by Satan in the wilderness (or at any time or anywhere else for that matter).
In fact Jesus was "TESTED" aka proofed in terms of authenticity.
Can Jesus God every fail to pass any test of authenticity? I think not.

He isn't. He is YHVH, was YHVH, and every will be YHVH. And He was fully YHVH during his earthy tabernacling as well.
I mean Jesus spat on the ground, made two balls of clay from the DUST of the ground, put those two balls of clay into the empty eye sockets of a man, and then......CREATED living eyes.
