Young's Literal Translation
And Jesus said to them, 'Through your want of faith; for verily I say to you, if ye may have faith as a grain of mustard, ye shall say to this mount, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you,

no faith
20 He told them, “It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matt 17

Little faith is not no faith. And this faith is constrained by Gods will not ours

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Would you agree that the faith of JESUS Is not the same as human faith called believing with human 5 sense knowledge?🙂
Our faith is in the unknown, we have to take it in faith, believing.

John 6:46 tells us Jesus has seen the Father. (Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.)

If you told me some things about yourself, I would have to believe you. If I ever met you I would not need to believe any longer because I would know.

Jesus has first-hand knowledge of the Father and has seen Him. Jesus does not need to believe, because He knows.

there' s variations in Greek papers - lack or little

lack of faith is the real one -it is in agreement with the other passages

King James Bible
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

yes

apostles in that time asked to multiply there faith
Jesus said - nothing you have from what could be done multiplication
they did not have the faith of God

if you would have - would be visible that you have by manifestations of it

have to receive the Holy spirit and be filled with Him - then there's hope to have one from Him
You seem to be In agreement with faith that a man has before salvation Is based off his senses trusting that If his faith Is small he can move mountains using the faith of JESUS.

no scale

but exception - by faith which is special in each case and personal

in case the faith common - participation in common salvation guaranteed
The faith of JESUS Is the faith that Is required for salvation so then there would not be an exception for some based on their own faith towards salvation.

admission to getting salvation by your own faith

obtaining salvation by God's faith only - obtaining grace to salvation

human faith cannot do anything only after being tested by God and accepted to be genuine to be granted by it the Grace for salvation

This Would be a good example of believing with human belief and common sense GOD put Into man but It Is not the same as the faith of JESUS which saves unto salvation.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1)

Educate me about the faith of Jesus. Jesus came down from heaven's glory, what does He hope for, and what has he not seen?

That scripture Is not talking about JESUS It's talking about man.The faith of JESUS Is the vehicle so to speak to carry a person on to salvation but Faith that a man has Before salvation I believe It was called back then human faith based on five senses.

If we have Faith or human reasoning the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains. How can move mountains without the faith of JESUS.
The answer Is he can't move mountains without the faith of JESUS BUT If his 5 sense knowledge Is true,GOD IN CHRIST would accept his SINCERE repentance and carry him on to salvation by Grace through faith.

That scripture Is not talking about JESUS It's talking about man.
That scripture as you call it, gives us the definition of faith which is neuter.

The faith of JESUS Is the vehicle so to speak to carry a person on to salvation
Think of a little child holding his father's hand while they wait to cross a busy road. The child has faith in his father to see him safely across. The father on the other hand watches the traffic and waits until it is safe to cross, and then He guides the child safely across when he KNOWS it is safe to to do so. The child exercises faith, the father exercises knowledge. We are the children, God is the Father.

but Faith that a man has Before salvation I believe It was called back then human faith based on five senses.
If you can see it, smell it, touch it, taste it, and hear it, no faith is needed, you have knowledge of it.

You sound confused.

In Christ's day an insoluble problem was spoken of as a mountain. It was a common colloquialism. I have had a few insoluble mountains in my day and I put my faith in Jesus to solve them, and you know what, HE moved them, by his power.[/QUOTE]

IDK,sounds like you are basically saying the same thing I'm saying but the way you say Is confusing me.

This Is true but a man’s faith or genuine belief using his senses has to be true or GOD would not accept It and give the faith of JESUS to him towards salvation.

Do people lose their faith?
There is a sense in which if we believe Jesus is God, then how can we continue to do ourselves
harm by staying in sinful behaviour, and if our hearts change we want and enjoy other things.

So equally if we stay in sinful behaviour or return to it, we are hurting ourselves and the Lord.
There comes a point when we are so closed down and shut off, like Tina Turners song, "What
has love got to do with it", we have no living relationship and faith.

So I am suggesting that sin destroys our faith, it destroys our ability to trust God will forgive
us and leads us to a place where we say, it is all pointless.

What I am trying to say, is walking in Jesus is walking with an open emotional heart.
To continually do ourselves and others harm, causes us pain, which we can only survive by
becoming hard. Once we are hard, we do not notice sin or care about it.
Paul described this condition as reaping death.

So the living plant of faith lives by following and obeying Christ, walking in love.
It is damaged and hurt by the evil we do and the denial of the hurt we bring.
Is this a fair summary of things in Christ?
After we are saved eternally, and lust after the things of the world, we do not lose our faith in God, or our eternal salvation, we are just disobedient children of God, until we repent.

I agree with you if we hold on to our faith in God.
Some believe if they lose their faith in God still they are saved.

Hold on to faith?
How do you lose something that Is Incorruptible and sealed by GOD HIMSELF.
A seal from God is a statement of authority not a thing that cannot be broken out of.
And the question is not how people lose their salvation, but if they have what does
that mean to how we read the scriptures.

Clearly the apostles faced people who were accepted as filled with the Spirit, had
authority and recognition in the church yet fell away. This is not uncommon if you
look at any church over a 30 year period.

But people love the fantasy of an idea rather than the hard facts of apostacy.
What is more pertinent is a backslider who returns or someone who got
distracted. Many a believer has fallen into adultery to then return and repent.

What has become worrying is when I state people can fall away I am an evil
unbeliever who should be cast out into the outer darkness preaching satans
gospel. It means coming to faith and walking with Jesus have been changed,
and Gods people are under attack.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Hebrews 11:1‭-‬3 ESV

Faith, an extension of His Love and Mercy, in the truth of Him brings us home. From faith to faith, glory to glory, trusting and believing He keeps us, equips us, and prefects us, in His way, how He sees fit, all for His Glory. Wow... He does it all because He loves us that much!!!

Jude 1:24-25 says it all.

faith should work

then it becomes saving one

one is saved after receiving by faith the following -

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

and this has its own signs

without signs no rebirth has been taken place- only dreaming about
I would rather put the spiritual thought behind a post rather than emphasizing the flesh.

I would rather say, without being reborn there are no signs.☺️

the beginning of faith from the word of God
