The court in NY ruled that people who were fired because of this while ignoring an application for a religious exemption that they should be reinstated and paid for all the time they were out.
However, NYC is still fighting this because once they lose this battle they are bankrupt.
No, that is not correct. I was a teacher, you had to be vaccinated. My wife also worked for the government and had to be vaccinated. The mandate was for NYC gov workers.

I have my own personal reasons why I no longer am a believer. If anyone is interested in having that conversation we can do so privately because I'm not here to try to do convert anyone .That's why I stay out of the bible discussion threads and just stick to the news discussion and miscellaneous stuff. Been here since 2011 and where I have butted heads with people here is that I think the Constitution outweighs any religious theocracy as per the amendment clause. I'm sorry some people here get butt hurt when I don't agree with their conspiracy theories

I had a reason for asking because if they are going to claim religious exemption that I wanted to see what scripture they are using.
If a Muslim were claiming religious exemption I would ask him to show me the verse in the Quran too

Epistemology. It's just asking a question of what do you believe about this issue and why do you believe it. That's how conversations work.
Also you are straw Manning me because I have said multiple times on this forum that if you don't want the vaccine then that is your choice.

The discussion was about people who claimed a religious exemption from the vaccine. You disputed their right to do that because according to you there is no Bible verse. That means you are a judge and you are judging the legitimacy of their "religious exemption". No straw man, simply the facts.
You also said that you avoid Bible discussion threads and stick to the news threads since you are not a believer, and yet here you are pulling up the Bible on the news thread.
How hypocritical is this. Do Muslims have to quote the Bible? Do Buddhists? Do Catholics? No, if their Imam, or Pope or the Dalai Lama says something, good enough. So you deny Jesus speaking to the believer and you reject a letter from the Pastor. Hypocrisy.
This is your second straw man. I never claimed there's not a verse that says anything about the vaccine thing. I asked which verse are you using to arrive at this conclusion.
Then I said I don't necessarily agree that the Temple of Christ applies because I don't believe the vaccine is poisoning your body.
Every vaccine ever has had a few casualties. That's just the nature of human biology.
This is the reason I butt heads with people here because they straw man my arguments just like you're doing to me right now.. I made no claim that the Bible doesn't have a legitimate scripture that says you can't take a vaccine.

It doesn't matter if you agree. We have a constitution, it gives us the freedom of religion regardless of whether or not you agree. That is the point.
There is a process for applying for a religious exemption.
It is foolish to ask me about what verse, I didn't apply for a religious exemption and neither did my wife. Ask the person who applied, it is their right that they exercised.
Your argument was illegitimate. The question is not which Bible verse did they base it on, the question is what is the process by which you apply. You know perfectly well that in this country everyone has the freedom of religion so obviously they do not require a Bible verse for people who do not see the Bible as the word of God. Instead they ask for a recognized leader in your religion to write a letter. That is the law for everyone. Why would you think there is some special requirement for Christians? Hypocrisy.
Don't try and change what you said, they claimed a religious exemption, therefore you need to see the letter from their pastor. That is the law.
Go ahead and try to ask for the verse in the Quran, let's see how far that gets you.
Muhammed Ali claimed a religious exemption from the Vietnam war and eventually won. Many Muslims didn't. You don't need a verse, you need a letter from your religious leader.

I just asked which scripture are you using and then I explained why I don't necessarily agree that that scripture applies but then again that's my opinion. I'm not stating it as a fact.
Also as I have said about a billion times, if you don't want the vaccine then don't take it. Your body, your choice
One's body is invaluable subject to one's will alone..
