I don't think I've ever taken it internally, but it works wonders on infected wounds. Once I had a cut on my hand that got infected and had a red streak forming, a sign of blood poisoning. I kept soaking it in hot water with Epsom salt dissolved in it that night, and the next day it was fine. I had the same thing happen with a wound on my foot that had a red streak but I think it only took one or two soakings. Why do people take this?
It can be, and is safe; high in magnesium (can act as a laxative) and sulphur.I don't think I've ever taken it internally,
Good heavens! Why didn't you go to the emergency room for a cocktail of the most powerful antibiotics to be followed up with possible surgery? Their treatments might have cost an arm or a leg, but Only Medical doctors know what they're doing, don't you know.I don't think I've ever taken it internally, but it works wonders on infected wounds. Another thing it's great for is adding to a warm bath to soak in before bed, esp. if you have sore muscles.
I know then my gut bacteria would have been killed, wouldn't that have been lovely?Good heavens! Tisk- tisk
Yes, I agree. That's one big part of the immune system too.I know then my gut bacteria would have been killed, wouldn't that have been lovely?
Wow sad. Yeah I'd try to stay away from the hospitals as much as possible by God's grace.Yes, I agree. That's one big part of the immune system too.
I've seen people actually die from the medical treatments for UTIs, etc. in hospitals and nursing homes.
It sounds like you did the right thing.Wow sad. Yeah I'd try to stay away from the hospitals as much as possible by God's grace.
Thanks I am too lol. It's amazing the effective home remedies that abound! It sounds like you did the right thing.
Doctors I followed told me that hospitals never use a cheaper, more effective treatment when there are less effective, more expensive profitable treatments available.
Yours might have cost $5 and saved your life. Theirs might have cost over $10,000 plus your life. I'm glad you are still around.
Yes!Thanks I am too lol. It's amazing the effective home remedies that abound!
Thanks, it's such a blessing to have some knowledge like that. And I think it's really wonderful you're educating yourself in that area so you can help others too. Congrats to you as well lol.Yes!
A large part of my life is devoted to learning how NDs and the best Nutritionists help people recover. God guided me in circumstances and motivated by love for others and for Him. I learned that many of the cures, the substances and habits that bring about healing are available to the average person.
Your epsom salt is available world wide. It costs less per pound than anything I can think of in the pharmacy section at the stores. Yet, God revealed to you through your Mom or someone that it might help your body knock out those septic infections. I suppose there is a time for some to go to an ER. Instead, you had the Great Physician's help by using what He created for those challenges. The application of that knowledge possibly saved your life. Congratulations!
On a scale from 1-10, (1 no interest, 10 completely into that), where do you place yourself when it comes to interest in natural remedies? Let's say for sake of comparison that the average person is a 1 or 2. If they take vitamins or see a chiropractor, etc. they are a few points higher 3-6.Thanks, it's such a blessing to have some knowledge like that. I'm thinking a 7? If you mean how much more likely I am to treat myself at home than go to a doctor I'd say a 10 lol. But if you mean how much I've studied it and used it, then maybe a 6 or 7. Good question because I wasn't very clear.I'm thinking a 7? If you mean how much more likely I am to treat myself at home than go to a doctor I'd say a 10 lol. But if you mean how much I've studied it and used it, then maybe a 6 or 7. What about you?

I'd like to say 10...but the question made me do some soul-searching. I have this relative that calls me a lot, and she's on all kinds of medication and is not very healthy. Sadly she's young too, only about 30. And I hate to say it but I haven't shared a whole lot with her. Partly cuz she's extremely opinionated and I feel like she'd be too stubborn to listen to some of the stuff I'd like to say. But I'm more than happy to share with someone who wants to know... There have been times this relative has researched natural remedies and asked me if I know of something, which I'm really glad for. But it would take a big lifestyle shift for her to really get healthy instead of treating the symptoms like she usually does.Good question because I wasn't very clear.
I don't mean how much you know about God's ways of healing. I mean in general, like how much interest when faced with a challenge with personal health or of a family member, someone close. If you could learn about a treatment to help cure / initiate proper healing (10 absolutely) vs go to an MD for meds and let them deal with my health challenge (1).
That's really commendable. Definitely reminds me of my Mom. She loves telling people what she knows about herbs and natural healing. As far as a passion for helping others with nutritional, supplemental support, I am definitely a 10 on the scale. I always have been thanks to the Lord's direction. It's a lifestyle and I schedule time for learning more about it as well as the Bible. I'm not perfect and there's times I've been tested.
I know what you mean. I have relatives that are the same way. It concerns you because you care about her. That can hurt and it takes a lot of patience doesn't it? Wanting to help when people we love don't want help is a tough way to feel. That's probably been my biggest burden in life.I'd like to say 10...but the question made me do some soul-searching. Anyway... maybe I'm an 8 on the scale?? But I would aspire to be a 10 I hope.![]()
Yes I care about her and would love to see her make better choices. I should pray more and ask God to give me wisdom and words, and that he'd open up her heart.I know what you mean.
