Isn't it interesting that the idea that one has to make an effort to "do" something is an anathema to many people regarding the means to obtain eternal life.
Jesus said to strive, ie. "make an effort" and somehow that is turned upside down by people to mean "make an effort to do nothing except believe in something."
Very "few" people in a relative sense (compared to the majority) are going to be saved. It is only the few who take Jesus seriously and make every effort to abide in His teachings and thus do exactly as He taught.
Very well said. I have always said that one needs to live their salvation. It is NOT a thing of the past. Salvation is every day since the new birth in Christ Jesus. Paul dies daily and Jesus said if anyone would come after Him, that they needed to carry their cross daily.
Strait contains tribulation.
Romans 5:1-5
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand , and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we
glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And
hope maketh not ashamed ; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Revelation1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and
companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
