The gate or door according to Luke 13:24, just as also the way, is Jesus himself (with the grace of God, which He has won for us through His suffering and death.) John 10:7, 9. The call can be translated as 'Believe in me (and what I've come to do)'.

The gate is narrow and the way is narrow for all people who are still in their unrepentant and from God turned away state. Yes, the gate is so small and the way so narrow that it is completely impossible for these people to enter it. Human reason is namely focused on our own performance in order to reach God and salvation. The narrow gate and the narrow road requires that you become righteous before God by grace alone, for the sake of Christ's death. This is unacceptable to the natural human way of thinking.

Paul testifies that the talk about the cross of Christ was a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. 1 Cor. 1:23. Although Jesus did many signs and wonders, who testified that He was the Messiah promised in the prophecies, very few of the Jews believed that Jesus was sent by the Father. John 12:37.

[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Disbelief or the path of reason is generally the accepted way. If the kingdom of God would not be in ministry on earth all men would be on the broad road, because all share in the Fall. But this road leads to eternal destruction, regardless of that there are many who walk in it. That road is wide and broad in the sense that it allows the human complacency to thrive and allow man freely to substantiate their false hopes of their own deeds of righteousness.

[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

By himself no man is seeking the narrow gate or the narrow road. And no one would find them, if not the gate or the road itself would come in the form of the gospel and bring man on the path of life. Those who have been found by Jesus, they also simultaneously have found Him. These people form an elect group among the vast majority of people.

The false shining is the broad road that holds all human, seemingly good intentions, through their own candidate, self-will and self-striving to develop their own righteousness. The glow of it is a false picture of the truth. Man's own will and desire is namely throughout sinful and that broad road ends in damnation.

Be a true Christian is not an easy road.

We have to love others mean we have to witnessing other. If we don't witnessing mean we not love them, we don't care they salvation. We know they go to hell and we don't care and that is not love.

Witnessing is a narrow road, It something need humbleness. People will think we are stupid fanatic. No body around us want to be a friend any more except minority Christian.

In my town there are about 5000 population.

Only about 6 church.

My church average 17 attendance, other 5 church I estimate about 120 combine.

Most people are non christian and if you talk about Jesus, most of them will insult you.

In Middle east, it worse, witnessing there is a narrow road, they may kill you or put you in jail.

It is narrow, but it is beautiful and peaceful.

Want width path full of suffering or narrow winding twist but peaceful and beautiful.

Paul choose a narrow path, suffer in the prison but not depress, he sung there, sign of joy.

The NARROW WAY is a way the considers ONLY JESUS. IT does not run to doctrines, feelings, people or their own thoughts for salvation. IT CONSIDERS ONLY JESUS.

Many BELIEVE they trust only the Lord, yet argue vehemently for doctrines like OSAS, the RAPTURE, the ANTICHRIST person, the literal 1000 years Millennium, Calvinism, Arminianism. THEY TAKE COMFORT that they understand scriptures by their intellectual investigation instead of by REVELATION of the Holdy Spirit -- THEY ARE DECEIVED.

MANY shall come in that DAY -- saying LORD. MANY shall take the name of the Lord without walking in his character and nature.

THEY HAVE NO TRUE FEAR OF GOD.

MOST CHRISTIANS WILL NEVER LEARN THIS. THey will ASSUME .. .THEY WILL RATIONALIZE ... THEY WILL ALLOW THE POWERS OF HELL TO CONVINCE THEM IT'S OK TO SIN A LITTLE -- after all "NOBODY'S" perfect.

It is a CHOICE EVERYONE HERE MUST MAKE.
 
Tribesman, good post man. This is how I see the ones that TRY to enter and teh ones that DO enter....

Jesus is the gate that the sheep pass through to enter into God (the penn/sheepfold) of the sheep. And in John 10:3 Jesus says the PORTER will open the gate (Jesus) so the sheep (His people) can enter into the sheepfold (God). This PORTER is our conscience. No one with a dirty conscience will be able to enter. God will NOT allow sin in His sheepfold. And all sin makes goats of the sheep. Sheep is goats that God turned to sheep by WASHING AWAY SIN AND GUILT! Goats remain in sin and guilt.

Also the narrow gate that many strive to enter but shall not be able... SIN is what keeps them on the wrong side of the narrow and straight gate.... If we do not lie down, die off ALL sin God wants us too, we CANNOT have a clean conscience to enter. Only the holy righteous men of God can enter through... they were goats, but by the WORK of God they are now HIS SHEEP... Pure and holy! The power of God's salvation from sinner to righteous man of GOD!

Sounds like according to you 'perfect doctrine' saves after all.
Jesus alone saves but that doesn't mean one can't 'argue vehemently' their convictions.
 
The way of the kingdom and entering into abundant life is a narrow way. It's a hard road. Many are called, but few are chosen. This is not necessarily talking about belief in Jesus, but full commitment to Jesus, real kingdom living, building one's house on the rock and not the sand. Notice the sermon on the mount is actually given to the disciples.

Must never do because they trust their own righteousness, their own efforts, their own commitment, their own works and wisdom or experiences and often even proudly boast in same (comparing themselves to other men). Instead of setting all hope to what Christ has done they set hope to their own selves. Looking either to law or self, but not to Christ. Few comes in because few are actually truly convicted of their sin and their all-time need for a Savior. Most want to walk their own way. Not The Way.

Salvation is ONLY when one is IN GOD, and GOD IN HIM... anything before that is NOT SALVATION. If a person is SAVED he is IN GOD. and GOD IN HIM. That is the only PERFECT SALVATION.

Look how God is above, in and through ALL HE SAVED.... Eph 4:6... One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Bookie for once look at this picture... The person in God the Father PASSED THROUGH JESUS... that is why HE IS ABSOLUTELY PURE... Washed by the blood, the washing is NOW DONE... and also the SEPERATION. Jesus is the NARROW GATE... and the ones that entered is no longer OUTSIDE but IN FATHER... and IN HIM IS NO SIN... only yhe ones OUTSIDE still sin...

Look how sinless and perfect the salvation is... Washed as pure as He is pure by the blood, kept as pure as he is pure by the GATE. And Made perfect as He is perfect by the FATHER IN THE FLESH.... If you are in God He is in your flesh. Now that is the only salvation of the Father of our Lord Jesus. Praise God that HE STILL SAVE people today... What an AWESOME God He is, the ONLY God that takes our place.....IN our flesh here on earth...WOW!

If there is a "perfect doctrine" I would like to know what it is. And I'm not interested in answers like "Read your Bible."

So a perfect doctrine does save.. It is just man messes that up and makes it a doctrine which can not save.

You still have the issue, That some men must believe in the perfect Gospel., or no one would be saved. correct?

Strong's says agonizomai means to endeavour with strenuous zeal, strive: to obtain something. There is no entering the strait gate without striving, effort, work. It is found in 1 Tim 6:12 (YLT) "be striving the good strife of the faith" Also 2 Tim 4:7 "the good strife I have striven"


It is also found in 1 Cor 9:25. In this context one cannot obtain the prize unless he strives, runs the Christian race. What is overlooked by many in this context is that the Christian race Paul describes here, one must run, a work. No obtaining the prize if one does not run/work. Those that do not run the Christian race have no hope in receiving the prize. Anyone and everyone can participate in this race and all who finish will get the prize but those who begin this race but fall aside and quit running will not receive the prize. The prize is offered for free to everyone but only those that conditionally run can obtain it.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
