Ok, I give up. I'm having trouble connecting the dots.
If you had written James 4:4, I probably would have made a connection.
James 4:4 (KJV) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom 12:2)

I attended a church where the pastor preached on the mind of Christ for three years. Every week he had a new scripture that teaches on a quality of the mind of Christ. Then after 3 years I realized we could fill up a whole dictionary with words that describes the Mind of Christ and the Divine Thoughts of God. For example: Jesus had the right attitude, he was patient, unshakeable, compassion, gracious, watching, loving, courage, zeal, alert, honest, humble, good report, self control, respectful. To name a few.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God." We are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We are to be made new.

Or in other words follow Jesus's advice: Matthew 10:14

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

This is speaking to the children of God for Paul called them brethren for when they are saved they are to grow in Christ, and to be like Christ representing goodness which is what this is speaking about.
Mat 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
Mat 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Some people repented correctly but went back to sin and did not continue in the goodness of God.

So Paul is telling the ones that repented correctly to move forward acting like Christ and growing in Christ which is the perfect will of the Father.

You forget that Jesus-GOD got vicious and took a stick to the dirty cattle sellers and money changers in the temple when if the stick guy really was GOD He could had their own lambs trample them to a pulp.
And GOD-Jesus seems a petulant genocidist according to all non-believers.
And the risen Jesus-GOD couldn't have spoken to Mary because no-one can see GOD's face and live.
And the GOD-Jesus that had to return to convince Thomas still had a hole when He could have spoken to him out of a candle flame.

Everything follows shadows and types. There is a pattern that has been established from the very beginning. In the Bible they call this the rule of first use. God is very exact and very precise and He does things the way He does them. We can see this in how fine tuned the universe is. We can see this in my aviator how delicate of a balance life can be.
