We can't seem to project even the FRUIT of the Spirit.
How then can we be used by God through the gifts of the Holy Ghost?
There are visible and invisible things surrounding us.
The devil tries to imitate every thing about God.
I cannot say if a psychic is born again or not but I do know that we have restricted God in what He CAN do through us.

Same difference between Doer and Doing. Not a big difference. One is a noun and the other is the present participle of the same meaning.
We don't have to subscribe to unchristian meanings of words nor give power to them for unbelievers. God is our reference not dictionaries. To me, empath is just someone who empathizes with people a lot, and is not that useful of a word given that all Christians empathize with people a lot.
Same with the word "gay". It just means lighthearted and carefree to a Christian. It has no other meaning as I don't care to empower unchristian meanings for the word. In fact, true gaiety only comes from faith in the Lord and truely gay people are those who have surrendered themselves to Christ. There is no other type of "gaiety" and no other meaning to "gay". And no, it most certainly doesn't involve the ugly sin of homosexuality that is declared an abomination in the Bible.

No... a empath channels familliar spirits and stuff. Empathy is a trait anyone can have. I care about wording. Makes sure you dont get inro misunderstandinga
I don't socialize with occult people. As such, I don't care about misunderstandings with them as I am not interested in anything they believe in.

JZ Knight is one of the more famous ones, or I should say was, until her ex-husband outted her as a fraud channeling an ancient spirit she called, Ramtha. He said he walked in on her one day when she was practicing the voice she used in claiming she was channeling Ramtha, when her own voice changed. But she made millions frauding people gullible enough to buy her books, CD's and attend her seminars.
Our member Demi doesn't know what Empathy is, nor that those who feel Empathy are often called Empaths. The Bible even refers to Empathy. And amazingly enough this is her thread from the looks of her taking over as she has.

at the risk of boring people, an empath is not a person who has empathy
you know soggy, you go out of your way to harass sometimes
it is actually yourself and a few others who have trouble with the meaning of words even though the explanation is very simple
empathy is what we can have for another, as in you feel sad that your friend just lost her dog or cat or house
an empath is someone who supposedly actually TAKES ON THE FEELINGS OF YOUR SAD FRIEND which is not a Christian practice

As always people take something more complicated and try to simplify down to mean only one thing.
An "empath" can simply mean someone who is very empathetic.
Social workers are trained in what it means to be empathetic, and those that do well in it are often called empaths. I do see it as skill.
Of course the is always the dark side of anything where empaths are also part of new age mystic experience.
Occult in its true, narrow sense means "hidden" so ... "new age" is the revealing of the occult so it is not really occult anymore.
True, no longer hidden. And true, dark sided people are able to corrupt most anything they wish. Exploiting what is a positive natural God given sense for their own gain. Frauds like JZ Knight, Mediums, and the like.
I think what is troubling with regard to that which fosters condemnation and a malevolent spirit or meaning to Empathy and what it means to be Empathic, is not just the lack of understanding of what Empathy is, and the clear refusal to learn the truth about it, but the effort undertaken to make it appear as if those who are Empathetic, or Empathic, and hold Empathy, are of the Devil. Which would mean to imply, they're not actually Christians.
Sordid agendas of that nature are dark in themselves. Though it may also indicate that lack of Empathy is the issue. And making something sordid and of the adversary then makes them feel blessed, rather than in deficit of a sense that allows us to be more in tune with that God given sense, and as such relate to community as well as the state of the world in its sin.
Empathy is all through scripture and presented in a positive God affirming way. Condemn that at ones own peril.

The funny thing is that they dont even know how old I am nor how old this picture is.
Ive given up dealing with unteachable people around here. Even less those who condemn young ones (already unbiblical), calling me a child is an insult in itself so thats that too, then looking down on people who aren't saved.
