I think I know what you mean, I'm generally not the kind to challenge something and point out that what isn't quite right.
All I'm saying is his picture isn't correct and is not a basis for argument.. Perhaps I should stick to let things slide.
Anyhow, please explain what's not like me? If there is something to be corrected let me know.. Perhaps pm it for the sake of the thread.
I think it might help us all in the thread to see what happened so I'll post it openly. Go back and read it again. A poster came in and had knowledge that was arrogantly displayed. (We all have a problem with this, so we all should be able to see what happened.) He didn't speak well but spoke arrogantly. That affects us all if we aren't careful to see what's happening. Our own arrogances and pride rise up too and instead of actually seeing their arrogance, we join in it. Where we should be stating that arrogance isn't the right way, we instead join in. And you saw it snowball because then someone else came in with some former grudge and attacked a man who was all but begging for understanding. He was basically saying...I want to share what God is putting in my heart about how I've acted and I want to apologize for it but I don't want to be attacked so before I make my confession could you all please remember that you aren't without sin either and so be merciful to me and not attack me but forgive me?
It always snowballs and we need to become wise to it because arrogance through knowledge that puffs up but doesn't edify and bitterness from a carried over grudge are roots that spring up to defile many. At that point, no growing in Him happens and it just devolves and satan is pleased with himself that he so easily disturbed our fellowship.
I'm sorry that I acted arrogantly to anyone.
I think I should bow out of this thread. I should only stick to threads that I feel benefits myself and everyone, thats usually what I've done over the years.

If we take the scriptures as literal -- that - one day, most-if-not-all of the stars will fall to the Earth -- how entirely incompatible is that with modern science - which says that the stars are extremely large distances away and 1000s of times the size of the Earth?
According to the Ball Earth 'numbers' -- if you made a scale model using a 6-inch-diameter ball as the sun --- the earth would be a pin-head positioned somewhere around 60 feet away. ( Close enough for my illustration. )
Now -- imagine that 6-inch ball "falling to the Earth"...
Do you see what I am getting at?

The earth is flat, the fact that everyone loses their minds over it is of more interest to me than the fact that the earth is flat.

No, breno, you didn't act so arrogantly, the other poster did. But then you sort of agreed with him instead of what I came to know of you, which is that you would always be good to note for us if a remark was too rough or was unnecessary or was not spoken with love. You've always (from what I've seen) been good at recognizing a...ripple and moving us away from it safely. And you were always gentle about it, never harsh. And then you would always let it drop if the person wasn't ready to admit that they should have spoken better. That's rare in here to find - a gentle man who doesn't even bend a reed but who isn't afraid to correct our course or point out a rip current coming but who also doesn't become contentious if someone isn't ready to hear.
Huckleberry, have you been up there personally? The figures you have where did you get them? NASA, The space info you have where did you get it NASA?

Remember "firm, immovable" are the Key words here.

If the earth is flat, it should be easy to go to the edge and take a picture of what is below. Or for that matter, the edge where the earth stops.0 I'm sure someone has done it by now.
So please post some pics of the edge of this flat earth, and then I will believe. Or, I will spend a lot of time discrediting them, maintaining they were photoshopped, etc!

What if - to reach that edge - you had to travel a great distance ( at least several hundreds of miles, possibly well over a thousand ) across a lifeless completely-dark terrain of ice and snow at 100+ degrees below zero - where the sun literally never shines? And, that is assuming that you are somehow able to breach the protective dome somewhere along the way. ( And, there may not be any oxygen outside the dome. )
If you are going to consider Flat Earth, you must learn to think in Flat Earth terms and not Ball Earth terms.
The oceans do not fall off the edge in a completely tropical environment where you can simply approach the edge, drop an anchor, and take pictures...
And, it is very highly likely that no airplane has ever come anywhere even close to the 'edge' - enough to see it. ( Because of the protective dome. )

Gary, We have friends who are geologists who work for oil companies and the british
antartic survey. They have surveyed the whole of antartica and looked at its
geology and habitate in summer and winter.
There is no edge, there is continuous night in winter and with continuous day in summer.

Now this is simply impossible in a flat earth model. End of story, why carry on?
Travel a great distance? 100 below temps? No oxygen? No sunshine?
What's the problem with that? People travel thousands of miles everyday. If in a harsh cold place equip yourself with appropriate cold weather gear. Lack of oxygen? Deep sea divers carry oxygen so they can breathe. While there is no sunshine in Antarctica for 6 months in the winter there is sunshine for 6 months in the summer. Even if the sun never shone there are devices that will give light to see where you're going, they're called flashlights.
People have explored the earth since the beginning of man. If the earth was flat it would now be well documented. Apparently flat earth peeps are too timid or lazy to see and prove what they really believe to be true.
Protective dome? Come on, Gary. You really don't believe this crap either do you?
