By God making you guilty by his terms, Does the Guilt that once convicted you, ever convict you again, after it's been washed from the heart.

And if it does what causes that, and where does the guilt remain.

And what about guilt before being saved by God's terms.

How does that come about.

So I'll wait for many answers and reply next week I think.

As I have to put priorities first now

Hello @Jordon, you asked, does my guilt ever convict me? Yes, but never more profoundly so than it did just prior to my coming to saving faith in the Lord Jesus. I, in fact, had an experience (a little over 40 years ago now) that some refer to as, the dark night of the soul, and the weight of the guilt that I felt that night over my many sins first led me to believe that I was without hope and doomed, but not long after, it became a big part of what led me to Christ (who became and still is the remedy for all of my sins and guilt).

Interestingly, I'd been living a very sinful (but very fun) life for years when this happened, but that was the first time that I had been so deeply affected by it (my sinfulness and the resulting guilt). In fact, it was the first time that I had been affected much, if at all, by it, even though I was well-aware that my life was a sinful one (having been baptized and then raised in the church, so to speak).

The Lord had other plans for me however, and I believe that He used my dark night of the soul to finally bring me to Him :) In fact, the very next morning at breakfast, one of my colleagues, who was known for leading an even more sinful life than I was leading (but who had become a Christian sometime earlier) noticed how distressed I was and came over to talk to me about it/see if I was ok, and then not long after, spoke the Gospel to me and helped lead me to Jesus :)

I still feel guilt today, whenever the Holy Spirit convicts me of a sin that I've committed, but I do not feel guilt over past sins that I've already been forgiven/cleansed of, even if I don't "feel" forgiven, at first (I didn't do this as a new believer, believe/trust God and take Him at His word, that is, and Satan had a field day with me back then because of it :().

God bless you!!

Do you ever feal guilty you wished you could of done something better.

Need a verse for this for He never makes us feel guilty. Do we understand why we are in right standing with the Father? Its because we believe in Jesus. Rom 8.. Christ said I didn't come to condemn but to save. Again the new man not the old man. We forget those things that are behind.. no guilt.

Reminder of guilt isn't useful; unless it comes with reminder of the remedy and the correction- then it can help if you're tested soon after.

Things like holding on to anger, or unthankfulness can undermine your faith and make you feel the weight of sin- that serves as a reminder not to do those things.

It depends how you look at The word guilty, or guilt, of course you could say your guilt tripping me, but no that's different. Sometimes pleading for mercy can cause a person guilt. Like when you say awe you've made me feel guilty now.

You could look at it, in one direction or several.

But you could look at it as an inner feeling towards a friend , or even say your partner, and feel guilty in another way. Or be reminded of when a time, when you upset someone when you see there upset come back.

So you could even feel guilty by a person you upset, or a person you injured, and see that injured person in your mind and then feel guilty, which would be a good thing, coz then you feel good about being more careful, but that's if you been convicted on Gods terms.

More so if your with that person and you see that person all the time.

It could be a friend it could even be a neighbour.

But the guilt that comes back to you in your memory is the very thing that makes you treat them better.

Inner grief can cause ever lasting guilt, because even in heaven under the alter the righteous who are alive in Christ are suffering in there conscience right now.

My teacher who's a professor says if a person says they have no guilt, there actually declaring themselves perfect, as he says the whole world is guilty before God, but it's by God's terms a person is made to feal guilty,

As we have something called a sinful nature that never leaves us.

So I wss wondering what is that mechanism that makes the whole guilty before God in the unsaved and saved on Gods terms.

My guilt and shame is actually not conviction it is more like I beat myself up for every little mistake or sin it isn't the good kind of guilt it just makes me feel unworthy and filthy then to kind of punish myself I beat myself up aboiut it I need to learn how to deal with guilt in a healthy way

Hello again Jordon, well, I guess that it would depend on several factors, but typically, no. One of the ways that I try to live my life is in accord with this common saying, if something is worth doing, it's worth doing right (which also means that it's worth taking the time that I need to get it right (the first time, hopefully), which granted, is sometimes easier said than done ;)).

That said, I have often realized (after the fact) that I could have "done something better" and then wished that I had, but unless I realized this at the time and chose not to do it the better way for some reason, I wouldn't feel any guilt over it, rather, I'd just try my best to learn from it and do better next time :)(y)(y)

If we feel guilty of a sin convicting us and we sincerely repent knowing God forgave us then we should accept it and not feel guilty of it.

Because if God forgave us and it does not offend Him anymore we should not feel guilty about it.

For that sin is removed as far as the east is from the west.

We could feel ashamed for the sin but we should not feel guilty.

The problem is some people will repent but still feel guilty for it.

Some people still feel guilty because they will not forgive themselves.

And they beat themselves up about it.

We have to forgive ourself the same as forgiving other people.

Hi blain so when you wake up in the morning and go to work you can feel guilty just because you forgot to flush the toilet, but even more so, when you get home, and your misses tells you that bathroom stunk this morning.

You could even feel guilty you forgot to put the rubbish out, or feed the dog, or make the Mrs a cup of a tea,

You could even feel embarrassed and laugh and then feel guilty about something. You could feel guilty just watching a person struggle.

When in a bad shape you could feel sorry the day you where born, and when your happy you could feel over the moon.

Yes you can feel guilt for almost anything but there is a kind of guilt that brings actual repentance and then there is guilt that comes from the enemy which is almost always condemning in this kind of guilt one needs to be able to tell the difference between the two because one brings life and renewal to a person the other destroys them

as Christians, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins more importantly than ourselves convicting us. yes, our guilt can convict us too.if you commit the same sin, yes guilt again convicts. our conscious, spirit & soul are the operators of emotions.
