Maybe it's the sugar that does it. As a candy, the sugar to coffee ratio is WAY higher than any coffee cup I've ever seen.
Unfortunately...

Sugar is a game-changer, and for me, with enough of it, I can tolerate even most flavors I don't like naturally (grapefruit, alcohol, sour candy, etc.)

And seeing as it's highly addictive, it's no wonder they add it to absolutely everything, including salty things like chips and French fries.

I have actually prayed many time that God would take away my taste for sugar, except for in healthy things like fruit.

I get a kick out of false advertising for things like fruit snacks that will say they're "made with real fruit" -- sure -- if one mashed strawberry in a cup of sugar counts.

I have something very similar to this little machine...It is a perfect size for me as I live alone...It makes one big cup every morning , and it is hot...I add a little bit of grass fed butter , or sometimes one egg and blend it up before I pour...It is easy to take anywhere if I went to visit someone , and it is very easy to clean :coffee:.

Butter! Always makes a good cup better.

Butter is one of the best dairy alternatives for those who don't drink milk/ cream. I sometimes use coconut oil too. It doesn't break my fast.

Just don't ever, EVER try to get me to say that h*rsh*y "chocolate" is real chocolate. :p

There are some quite delectable milk chocolates out there, but anything that smells like ruined milk will never get my vote, no matter how much of a connoisseur anybody claims to be.
so how are you with Dove chocolate?

Turns out dove has an extra dark chocolate that is pretty good. Still not incredibly dark, but a unique flavor.

I know, right? My uncle Fred is a veteran coffee drinker and he would consider that black heresy. Pun intended.

@hornetguy ...
Yes...When you whisk the butter up in the coffee , it just turns into cream...And the egg whisked up makes all frothy , plus I am getting my protein from the egg which helps me with the diabetes...The coffee does not taste like egg in anyway :giggle:.

ok.... but I don't use cream in coffee anyway, so that's not a temptation for me.... and eggs.... I'll just scramble up a couple with some sautee'd diced onions and bell peppers, with some Tony Chachere's seasoning, and a little grated cheese.... and a slice or two of avocado on the side....

variety is what makes the world go 'round..... :cool:

I see a lot of heresy in this thread. Everyone not drinking their coffee black should repent.
I ain't repentin' o' no nothin'. :cool:

Ooooh, just look at all that beautiful cream, raining down from heaven...

Keep it comin', baby!!

If this is wrong, I don't want to know what's right! :p:coffee::geek:

Thank you so much for sharing this, @Rosemaryx -- I'm always looking for ways to sneak in extra protein, so I am going to try this. My Mr. Coffee brews the coffee very hot, so I would imagine the egg will just about be cooked when I add it.

I'm looking forward to trying this tomorrow morning.

And even if it doesn't work out, it still might be helpful for someone else. :)

No can do. But you’ll get a box of matches for the road.🤣
No last barista order for this poor, condemned, "foo foo" coffee drinker. :cry::cry::cry:

(At a store where worked, we once asked the head butcher if he ever drank flavored coffee and he said, in his manliest voice, "I don't drink none of that foo foo stuff!!" :ROFL::ROFL:)

I had to go into a Starbucks once with my youngest daughter, so I thought I'd try a caramel macchioto (sp?)..... it was really pretty good... .then I found out it's good because it has about 8 oz of sugar in it... that one was my last one.
My "sweet calories" are going to come from something other than my coffee drink...

It's really spot-on that these "coffee" drinks are often called "dessert in a cup." 🎂

o_O

Yeah, no...

Diabetes runs in my family so I try to be careful. For me it often comes down to "Does this taste good enough to be worth the blood sugar?" A cup of coffee would definitely not be worth it.

@seoulsearch ...Good morning...
This is what I do...I crack egg into a bowl , deep bowl , you can use all the egg or just the yolk...Then I pour my hot coffee over the egg or spoonful of butter , and blend it all together with electric blender...The egg does not cook :giggle:...I also add sometimes Beef bone broth ( Powdered ) This is a good protein also , but always check the ingredients when buying , as some companies add chemicals...xox...
