Thank you... yes I am trying to get them more involved in rugby so they are around men, but these are not Christian men. The problem I have found is that they tend to bond with older boys in gangs, as their role models and then there are drugs and weapons involved; and inevitably abusive behaviour because of drugs. There are very few goodness churches in UK now aswell making it more difficult for them to be with Christian men.

Ive already replied about martial arts but I will just add that MA keeps many young men out of gangs, drugs, alcohol, and yes even violence. MA isn't about teaching men violence it's about how to avoid it and make peace. It's also superb for self confidence and self control. Many people have the wrong impression about this.

In any event, it's a good place to start, nurturing their spirit can begin here and do not lose hope about there being a lack of good Christian men around, there are plenty of us 🙂

Yes!

But it's hard sometimes, I do get lonely but it is what it is,
I must go thru this to be healed properly to have God happy with me first and foremost,
funny thing is
im closer to Jesus ❤️

The struggle definitely serves a purpose, it's just hard to see this when you are mired in it.

You didn't mention this, but daughters need dads too. :)

Yes, they do. I know I needed my dad and unfortunately, my daughter has needed hers too.

It's sad that many people, especially guys ive encountered have looked down on me for even thinking that she needs a male figure. All they say is God is her father. And then go and say I am placing man before God, which is not true. Anyways, it's sad to read that what im going through is common and not something out- of this world, as I've been treated to believe.

I talked to my Priest today about being single and we both agreed that more often then not you don't find what you're looking for (in this context a partner) until you stop seeking it. Then when you least expect it God may deliver a nice surprise for you but you have to keep your focus on the Holy Spirit

I hear ya there. I’m not at that point yet sadly. Or I’m inbetween that point and not caring/focusing more on becoming an independent adult. 🤔 Though many have been able to do both and not have it either or.

“God created man in His own image...male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth’ ” (Genesis 1:27, 28)

This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.’ . . . Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:22-24).

God did not design us to be “independent” that is just part of the big secular lie pushed on us to destroy the nuclear family. It’s why so many people today are depressed and anxious.

I have expressed my distaste for my own singleness!
I am 62 now, been divorced 14 yrs,and the need to have my own companion doesn't abate.
However, unless the Lord has this direction for my life again it will be someone who's heart is set on Him as mine is.

If it's to be..........I haven't wasted any time getting closer to Him.
I do understand Butterflys position,2 make the load lighter and the journey sweeter!

No one on here should be haranged for their expression of transparency or their need to share!

If YOU CAN'T ENCOURAGE,please keep Quiet.............

Except thats a bunch of baloney. God has chosen some for singleness, and Paul even tells us that being single is preferred over marriage.

1 Corinthians 7:7-9
7 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

1 Corinthians 7:26-28
26 Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for a man to remain as he is. 27 Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife. 28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.

In my experience, it seems that men are the ones mainly that have problem with women expressing desire for male companionship. And "christian" men at that. I don't know why, though. I liked what you said here... make the load lighter and the journey sweeter.

I think your mixing the Bible with some teachings you got from Youtube bro. God is in charge. Let that comfort you.

Daniel 4:35
All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: "What have you done?

Okay, you tell me what it is then. How do reconcile the verses you mentioned with the teachings of the Apostle Paul that I mentioned?

The pursuit of being an "independent woman" is what I was replying to. Of course, God has plans for some people that don't include marriage but he doesn't want you to embrace the secular idea of "independence".

THAT is absolute baloney.

Just want to understand the part in bold? Not sure if I’ve heard of that before. Please clarify? :)
