Lulz, no not literally in a barrel. The term "do a barrel roll" is a a meme. (something popular on the internet, in this case a phrase. (other examples include "rick rolling", "LOLcats" "o rly" "over 9000" and many more.)
Memes are usually started on forums such as "something awful" or "4chan"
the term "do a barrel roll" is actually a reference to starfox20 (a video game)
