Of course you had to search for the story but Scott Adams said that he accepted Christ as his Savior before he passed. Not everyone gets that chance. But I'm glad he made things right before leaving earth.

I was really glad to hear about his deathbed conversion this morning too.

When I eventually see Mom, I hope to remember to look Scott Adams up. She will be glad to meet her favorite cartoonist. She was a fan of Dilbert and Garfield.

Folks,

that was close.
There are millions of people like Scott Adams that just need someone to lead them to Christ before it's too late.

It sounded more like "hedging my bets" than a true conversion. Only God knows for sure.

When we go forth bearing precious seed, we will doubtless come rejoicing, bringing our sheaves with us.

A stay at home Christian mother and her two boys prayed for their Dad to get saved. He was an outlaw biker with a lot of sins.
She called to ask if I could visit him in the hospital. He was dying quickly. He got saved and there was no reason to doubt his sincerity. A lot of Pagans got to hear the gospel at his funeral. I don't know how many trusted Christ as their Savior.
I learned that it's our job to witness the gospel with God's Word. It's up to the individuals to decide. Kinda like the thieves on the cross you know.

Where sin doth abound, grace doth much more abound.

Was he water baptized?
According to some on this site, he was not saved if he was not water baptized.

according to some on this site, a lot of people are not saved if they do or don't do things above and beyond trusting Christ as Lord and Savior.

that is why i don't go into the Bible discussion forum that much. too much arguing about the same things...

I'm always a little skeptical of deathbed conversions. All I can say is I hope this conversion story doesn't become an example of how to get saved. In his final statement he said: "I'm not a believer, but I have to admit the risk-reward calculation for doing so looks attractive." He goes on to talk about all the ways he feels he's been a good person.

He said many of his Christian friends asked him to find Jesus before he goes, so at their request he said this prayer: "I accept Jesus as my lord and savior, and look forward to spending an eternity with him." Adams practiced new age affirmations and this sounds more like that than an actual prayer.

It's unfortunate, but I wonder if he ever heard a true gospel presentation. It doesn't sound like he feared ending up in hell, but just wanted to go to heaven by chanting a magic incantation. I'm not his judge, that's just my opinion.
