Syllabub is an English sweet frothy drink which was popular from the 16th to 19th centuries, and a dessert based on it, which is still eaten. The drink was made of milk or cream, curdled by the addition of wine, cider, or other acid, and often sweetened and flavoured. (I heard this word in a movie connecting it with food but didn't look up exactly what it was, til now)

Kaross
Syllabub was a regular pudding when I was a child in England, but we always thought it was originally Italian. It was so full of alcohol that you probably couldn't drive after eating it, but it was cream, lemon and maybe rum or brandy .

I'm not learned to guess or figure out most of these words, lol, a small percent maybe. Also, part of the thread is to check the previous word and it's meaning, if you so choose. So the word before you is 'Welkin' so you would give it's definition and then put 'dite'. I'll be brave and do both words and see how I fare, lol.

You're right about the definition of dite, except that it's a common word - a verb really I suppose in Scotland and if means to scrape the cow muck out of the barn. You use a thing called a diter, which is like a big blade on a shovel handle.
