My first week in college (actually the week before, for marching band camp...yeah, yeah), my parents hadn't had a chance to come into town and get me a minifridge, and I didn't sign up for the campus meal plan because we thought it was a terrible deal. With a fridge and a microwave and a coffee pot, I'd be set for food. Problem was - eight days, no fridge, and the nearest grocer was a 15 minute walk. Which is not what you're down for after a day of marching all day. So, on the first day, I went to the grocer, bought a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, a bottle of honey, a hand of bananas, plastic knives, and a roll of paper towels. For eight days, every meal was either a PB-banana sandwich or a PB-honey sandwich.

Not quite long enough for me to be sick of them forever, but enough that I didn't eat one again for a year or so after I got my fridge and coffee pot.

Yeeeeaaaahhh.....that sounds familiar. Good times. Peanut butter and bananas is my favorite snack though....

Soy vey's very very teriyaki and pineapple juice for marinade. It's the bomb.

Something about the use of spices and coconut milk in Thai food. So good.

I had deep fried tofu at this Thai restaurant and it's possible the only way I would ever eat tofu again.

Yes, I had some one pleading with me to try the tofu. She was a vegetarian and I am not. I caved under the pressure. It wasn't terrible.

Y'all are reminding me that I need snacks for my upcoming mission trip. Beef jerkey is definitely on the list.

Dude...that's a 13 hour drive...I think I could fly to Thailand in that time!

No passport or vaccinations necessary. (I would know - I've flown to Thailand.)

Drove to Dallas this weekend. Driving to Houston on Monday. You get used to it. Of course, the real catch is, none of the roadtrips I've taken have involved children. And based off of what my Dallas-ite brother went through on his drive out here, I can say for certain that children complicate a roadtrip like nothing else. ^_^

(I had to get seven shots before I hopped the pond! And I didn't even get an anti-malarial. Four in the left, three in the right.)

My favorite Chinese restaurant closed recently. :(

First time I went overseas I was six years old....six shots in one arm, five in the other. Not a fun time.

This is a very sad post, isn't it? hahaha

I need cake... Anyone else want cake?

I live an hour and a half east of Dallas. We could have had a Thai party! :P Next time I go through the beautiful (ahem!) town of El Paso I'll make sure to drop in.
