Hey guys recently I asked about changing user name and someone said I have to delete and reactivate my account for that. Out of the blue my account was already deleted without even asking for it. That's not a problem now but I just want to delete old posts with my name on it is there a way to do that ?

There is a five minute window from where the OP can edit/delete their own post, after that time has passed only Admin can edit or delete user content. Other than rare circumstances, the only time we utilize that feature is to edit/remove content that violates site rules.

Not really. Here is the thing, the threads in the forums are like ongoing conversations. Deleting posts would be disruptive to the flow of conversation. There would be numerous quotes from posts that no longer exist. It is best to be responsible to what was posted in the first place.

Can I request any admin to delete my post ?

What would be the purpose for deleting a few of your previous posts?
It has my name on it. in case if any people that i know of finds my past it might cause some unwanted conversation that i have to face in future. At first I didn't know I can't change username (silly me didn't read it on registration page). So I just opened up like a overwhelming dam about my past. It would be really helpful if that thread could be deleted.

Unless you were foolish enough to post your e-mail address, street address, or phone number (which is warned against at the head of every forum) highly unlikely.

Ok, it's just I shared too much of my personal life under my own name. If I knew it would end up like this, i never would've done that. If by any chance you could do something let me know it would be very helpful. I don't want any of my friends or the person i mentioned in that post to know what I posted. Thanks for taking time to reply me kindly.

If you had read the warning post at the head of every forum titled "NEW USERS READ THIS BEFORE POSTING", you would have found this post

Just a fair warning to new users here on Christian Chat. All posts in our forums are Google searchable and viewable by non-members. Posting information such as e-mail, Skype, KIK, etc. albeit not prohibited by CC is not advisable because anyone on the internet can view this information.

If you had actually read the TOS prior to checking the box agreeing to the Terms of Service you would have found this

With the account closed, unless you tie yourself by admitting to it or discussing that account no one will know it's you anyways.
Best you can do is ignore it.

What I'm saying is. It has my name on it my real name. That's what bothers me.

Are you 35 and live in NC?

Did you pass away in 2008?

There are lots of people with your former user name on linkedin,
facebook, instagram, pinterest, ancestral family trees, etc.

Phone numbers, addresses and email records in/for multiple locations... mug shots even.

Putting your name in a search engine and looking a few pages in, I see no links to Christian chat.

That is, if you are the person I think you are ;):D

You are welcome! I did search both ways, with your last name first and then again with your last name last :)
You did that for real, I thought you were joking. I just laughed at what you said and realised I was overthinking about the situation. Thanks a lot magenta.
