To me it makes more sense that the powers-that-be will give us digits to stimulate the economy into collapse instead of just letting the economy collapse by itself.

These verses are 'interest'-ing...
Exodus 22:25
"If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury."
Deuteronomy 23:20
"Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it."
Luke 19:23
"Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?"
This is true. Because of what all governments have done to the value of their currencies, high taxation, government spending and waste, inflation, etc very few have the ability to pay cash for all their needs, particularly housing. So mortgages have become commonplace. As long as debts are fully paid, there should really be no issue. God even allowed Israel to deal with this issue.
Always glad to hear someone is working toward getting out of debt.
"The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender." Proverbs 22:7
Getting debt-free is wonderful but I wouldn't stop there. Try to acquire a surplus, some savings. I'm not a prosperity gospel guy, but when you have a little buffer you'll feel a lot better and you'll have more options.
Two things I have asked of You;
Do not refuse me before I die:
Keep deception and lies far from me,
Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the food that is my portion,
So that I will not be full and deny You and say, “Who is the LORD?”
And that I will not become impoverished and steal,
And profane the name of my God. Provers 30:7-9
Repaying debt is just giving back something you borrowed from someone.
Jesus taught his followers that if someone asks to borrow something then give it to them. He also taught that if an enemy wants something from you then give it to them and don't ask for it back. Matthew 5, Luke 6.
I suspect if you are dealing with a bank then you may not be dealing with Christians, but the bottom line is if you owe them something, they require it back, and you're in a position to do it (i.e., you have an income) then it's stealing to not return it and the secular law sees it the same way as well.

Its good to pay off debt. Its better to habe never had any debt. However our economic system isnt designed for people to operate debt free. So its hard to function in this world with out it. Our economy is based on debt and interest on debt. I pray the best for you. That you may be able to pay this off. And function hence fourth with out creating any more debt.
i think just generally if we purchase anything on credit or if we borrow money or have bills we pay we are agreeing to pay for it
so it’s really about honesty and integrity honoring the commitments we’ve made doing what we agreed to do
its more of a principle that applies to many things not only Money but we also owe other types debts to people who help us along the way to honor others is a continuing debt
"Chocolate" (or what those in the US call "candy" I believe) would fit the bill!
So, instead of just spending "money," you can eat it!
