Anybody know why several of us couldn't get on CC yesterday? Same day Parler was removed.

Server needed rebooting. Happens at times.

I looked up an image that I knew is here on CC, and then followed the link here. Before the "rooboot". It was strange to see the list of members online so small. And strange also, the timing of said need to reboot.

"Several of us" or everybody? When the site is down, nobody can post.

There were no posts for about 12 hours.

No, it wasn't due to some vast left-wing conspiracy to shut down Christian Chat. Even the best hosting provider has hardware/software issues from time to time. A decade ago CC was offline for almost a week due to catastrophic server failure.

If the server crashed in the early part of the day (US time) it would have been late in the day RoboOp's time. The site could be down for quite a bit of time without him knowing there were server issues to be dealt with. I became aware of the situation late in the afternoon/early evening when I tried to log in, notified RoboOp via e-mail (off site) and within 2 hours the site was back up.

Interesting, thank you kindly, I was in maintenance all my career so how stuff works is of interest to me.
I maintained fire alarm systems an they have pretty much all gone to software systems.
If there is anything I can do to help at CC, I am at your service.
