Today evening was the third time within the last few days that the website was not available for me. On any of my devices. This is so weird.
All other websites worked fine, so I thought the problem was here. I'm wondering that there doesn't seem to be a topic about this here yet.

Has anyone else had this problem or am I the only one?

This has been a topic of conversation occasionally especially recently when godaddy took
over the whole site. Usually it is just pages whiting out and not loading but occasionally
there is a fatal error also. The user2user forum has threads on this and other forums too.
The whiting out of pages can last for hours as can the fatal errors.

I haven't been able to access this site about 20 times or more over the last week. It's the only website that I have had problems accessing.

Technical issues happen.
Perhaps you will find a different forum that meets your expectations.

You are definitely not alone - this site has been experienced "down" problems for some time now - it seems to go down daily multiple times as a regular thing...

What exactly do you mean by "godaddy took over the whole site"...? (godaddy is the site server host)

This is weird. And what is the cause? Is there a statement from the administrators regarding this? (I haven't seen anything.)

It happened again just a moment ago, while I was on the site. It was down for about 40 minutes...

I realize that correlation is not causation, but I've come to a hypothesis that it has something to do with downloading large panels of artwork. This is why I try to keep mine as close as possible to thumbnail size. I can almost see it coming now, and when it happens, I just log out and try again later, figuring the cache would be cleared by then.

Well, there is a new error message showing up starting since yesterday. We have quite an array of them now...

"An error occurred while the page was being generated. Please try again later."

This is the error. Related to parts of hosting being down. In this case it's the database it seems.

it can be caused by server load that the host can't handle.

that could be the site being hosted with reduced bandwidth, or it could be a big drain on the available bandwidth from a variety of potential reasons, or it could be something else entirely.

we used to only have this issue once in a blue moon, usually immediately after kicking some malicious troll from the site, and i always suspected it was a deliberate DoS attack.
but since the server switched hosts it's been very frequent, and my guess would be either a lower bandwidth package or just overall poor service provided by the host.
