Christian Screamo Music?

I've found that the best place to find good metal (and subgenres) music is on the Christian channels. Works for me.

I think screamo goes against the law of music! I wouldn't listen The Devil Wears Prada, Norma Jean, Blessthefall, Underoath, Demon Hunter, August Burns Red, Brian "Head" Welch. Oh Sleeper, Winter Solstice, Through Fallen Skies, Night After Dark, ect. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE fan of Christian rock and rock. For that matter, my favorite band of all time is Skillet!!!! So yeah, i like rock, like, Skillet, Red, tobyMac, House of Heroes, Fireflight, Flyleaf, The Almost, Casting Crowns, The Afters, BarlowGirl, Pillar, Stellar Kart, P.O.D, Disciple, Kutless, Seventh Day Slumber! I think that you should at least be able to hear what the band is trying to say.

I love Christian rock, screamo, metal, etc! I love that kind of music. Oddly it soothes me when I listen to it, and it relaxes me. It's nice! Most importantly the members in these kinds of bands love God. If you really listen to the lyrics, they are meaningful. They are worshipping God through this style of music whether its head banging, or screaming out loud. It's all for God! This kind of music is not against God at all. Fyi they're putting out a Godly image towards the people who are into this kind of music. There are many bands in this genre that I love listening to.

screamo didn't come from just emo it came from a mix between post hard core and emo and the screamo singing came from Europe in the styles of metal
and screamo is not even screaming i dont care how many people say it is or how much it sounds like it
how do i know i myself am a screamo singer its not screaming but a type of singing that uses the false vocal cord and im not talking about the inhale carp you see many poser do its all done using exhale
and for all you selfcenter people that say its not what god wants or the way we dress is not christian

Most of the songs in this genre don't glorify God, the bands glorify themselves. Not all, but most.

But in general, regardless of if you like the sound of the music, why give it to the devil himself? There's nothing that says that makes that for the devil, so why say it is, and give him one more thing to had to his power list. It doesn't matter what your voice or singing sounds like if your praising God.

I highly doubt, although I cannot say for sure, that screeching and howling, growling like a demon or demented person is pleasing to God's ears. I can picture God with his fingers in his ears saying "this is not what was meant when it was said make a joyful noise unto the LORD." <----- JOKING. The sound of constant screeching and growling doesn't sound joyful to me... I cannot say how it sounds to God, but most of that music is not glorifying God, I can say that!

Psalm 95:2
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

There's just as much problems with christian music that doesn't involve screaming than there is with it. So it's no worse.

But the main point is for people that automatically say that's it's not at all possible to worship God through heavier music, because it is. If you give me a passage from scripture that says anything about metal music being ungodly, then we'll talk

I never said it is any worse than any other music. Kinda hard to find a scripture on it when there was no such thing as amplified instruments back then. We live in the 21st century, HELLOOO! You have to use the discernment of the Holy Spirt to see it for yourself. Not everything in this world is directly addressed in the Bible, that is where discernment comes in.

well i really dont and im not saying god dose but some people on here are saying screamo is music that god dosent support and what im saying is how do you know if he supports it or not if any music or anything

I don't think there's anything wrong with it if its Christian Screamo. Because it's giving a good message. Not everybody enjoys the same music and someone can be reached through it, then why not? It's whats behind the music that interests me, not what it looks like. Looks arent everthing, and some people aren't into the same music genres as the next guy. Things can appear all kinds of ways and look like they are good. Just because it's not worship, doesn't mean its necessarily bad, some music is just for the enjoyment but I agree that it should also have a great message no matter what kind of music it is. It's the message, and what's being said, and how its being supported that counts. Sometimes you have to present things in certain ways for people to understand it in God's perspective. Not evil and ungodly ways, but just differently.

First things first, God tells us to sing to him. A Psalm if you want to get technical. The literal definition os a Psalm is a song. Eg. the book of Psalms is a book of songs that can be sung in any way shape or form and still be praiseful. I read earlier on the page that some one said that screamo music was way to denomic to show glory to God (Note: not verbadum), the fact of the matter is that it dose show glory to God. I have my own band and we are a Christian band and we are also screamo. If you actually take the time to listen to the lyrics of the songs then you will see that they are praiseful to God. God says to send up to him a wonderful noise. Granted some people distaste the sound, or "noise" of screamo, but in fact some people embrace it and enjoy the "noise" of it. As long as it shows glory to God and not blasphemous then it is considered a wonderful noise. I find the sound of country music like nails on the friggin' chalk board, but i will not, could not deny the fact that if I heard a song that glorified God in the genre of country music then it would be a wonderful noise. Think of the lady who can't sing worth a darn in the church pew next to you (and i know everyone has thought this) and how she can't sing worth a flying flip. Well to us she may sound like a dying cow in a hail storm, but to God he basks in her praise because she is sending a wonderful (in her eyes) noise to God! Of course people have different views on music they always will, but we cannot deny the fact that some people deem Christian screamo bands as a wonderful noise, and so dose the Lord, God Almighty.

^not an actual verse, but rather a mishmash of like a hundred verses. It says over and over in the Bible that we should not be of the world. Replicating worldly music and slapping some Christian message on it will not make it of God...it is still of the world and you're just plain wrong if you think you are correctly glorifying God in this manner. You cannot mix the Godly with the ungodly and expect it to be wholly GOOD. You just can't.

Also, the word is 'DOES'... not dose.

sure why not? i recently was faced with a similar question about christian hip hop and in my personal opinion if someone likes that style of music then good for them if they listen to a christian version instead of mainstream.. regaurdless of the origins of the music

I just think Screamo needs to die. Period. Regardless of it's christian heritage or lack thereof. I don't find it a lasting or "timeless" genre, and certainly don't find much talent within it.

Constant screaming with double bass pedal drums and crappy lyrics about failed love is not good music. You can barely find the groove in the shredding guitar work.

I know why they have these sorts of bands open on the second stage of major festivals like Ozzfest or Mayhemfest; they are good to mosh and body surf to and get your adrenaline out before the good bands take stage. These bands arent even good to drink to...they would give you a headache in the blistering summer heat.

There's just nothing memorable about them. They all sound and look the same. Who wants to see some guy in skinny jeans with a lip ring and a devil lock with a bad voice?

Thats why they are destined to be opening acts. Thet are disposable. There is a seemingly never ending supply of these bands. They can be decent crowd warmers, but lack true talent with catchy hooks and memorable teenage anthem songs..(think KISS rock and roll all night, party every day) these bands just dont know how to write good tunes.

That's why the headliners will forever be bands like Ozzy, KoRn, Manson, Zombie, Alice Cooper, etc..

Slipknot was the only death metal band that will likely break into mainstream. And they were better back in the Iowa days before Corey Taylor blew out his voice.

I know we are talking screamo, but I think it's related personally.

Why did Cannibal Corpse, who has been around since the 80s, never really get that big? Cuz its not good!

I dont know what the next few generations will have for music if no bands figure out how to make catchy rock and roll.

I'd much rather have The Doors and sing to Light My Fire than thise nonsense screaming.

And I'm a fan of screaming. It works well when used properly. Like I said, I dig how like Manson does it....He'll use it once in awhile for effect and if it works in the song....he's a true artist. He's not just gonna scream for the sake of screaming like these kids in their garage bands do these days.

Music is terrible right now.

And rock and roll is supposed to be controversial, but it's sad when the only controversial act is Lady Gaga...and she's POP!!! lol Now I like Gaga, so nothing against her...but the rock and roll world has a lot of work to do to get back at being the #1 style.

Compare any screamo to "I Did It My Way" by Sinatra... The choice should be easy...

there is absolutely nothing wrong with Christian screamo!! >.> this is usually only an issue brought up by people who wanna judge everyone else.. (generally) or people who just do not understand... the sound doesn't matter... what matters is the content of the songs..

then again your not God, and you don't know what he'd like? Honestly, this is something that shouldn't even be an issue. Everyone has a genre of music they like.
