Choose your friends wisely, because many teens, for choosing the wrong friends, and going after their friends have ended up in terrible situations, crying for someone to come and save them, and no one could.

It is VERY important, more than EVER to choose your friends wisely. I would say that the best friend you can have in a time like this is Jesus Christ. But if you can find someone that is sold out to Jesus (not in word only, but in deed and in truth), that would be an oasis in a desert.

I for one choose Jesus Christ, because I know there is no possibility for him doing me wrong, or tempting me. I hope you would do the same.

I don't have very many friends since I became friends with Jesus, or if I do, I don't know them yet. It is rare to find a good friend. I might say I have maybe 3.

That is a really low number considering all the people I have come across. My friends have have one thing in common, they are also friends with Jesus.

So I guess that makes 2.

Choose your friends wisely.

May Jesus bless you.

Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals." -1 Corinthians 15:33

There was a time, many many years ago, when I did too. Thinking back on it reminds me of this old saying Ramon:

"Don't knock on Trouble's door and then act surprised when he answers."

Lol..

:):):)

Yes it does, and I kept plenty of bad company huh?

May Jesus bless you.

I love this thread!!! It's so true! :) And I also love that proverb!
Teens are very influenciable and it depends on which are their friends .. they will act
If they have friends who smoke or go dancing and hang out with people that date with a different person everyday, they will end up doing the same thing cause they want to be ACCEPTED by their friends
So, do you wanna have healthy fun?? Choose wisely, and have these premises:
*They must not smoke
*They must not go dancing (cause you know in dancing clubs, all that people do is go drunk and make up with strangers)
*They must not get drunk
*They must not like to try drugs (cause they will try to make you try them)
*Choose friends that make you grow in your faith
And finally: BE THE DIFFERENCE, be the light in the middle of the darkness, try to help them and be the adviser in your school group! They will thank you for it, and look for you when they need help :)

In concept I agree with you, we should be careful so those we surround overselves with have a bad influence on us causing us to sin

however, we should also remember that Jesus befriended not the "holy" people, but the sinners :) It is them we need to reach with the gospel

But he did that when he was 30 years old, not when he was 13. I'm advising teenagers here

So long as a teenager doesn't have a fear of man and a good foundation in Christ, we should be set (right?).

EDIT: So long as a teenager doesn't have a fear of man and has a good foundation in Christ, we should be set (right?).

even in older years we need to be wise , whos around us and whom we choose as our friends .
