As rioting is going on in Wa, OR, and CO the POTUS said:
"Trump's impeachment trial 'has to happen'"

Yet, the Democrats can't even get a Supreme Court Judge to preside over AS REQUIRED. So much for unity and coming together. Why is the violence happening in WA and OR? Trump is out of office so the hate should stop? It has not stopped and the reason is that it was never about Trump.

The very people who walked over the second impeachment like CA REP. Eric Swalwell who was in a compromising position with a CCP Female Spy, and married still on the intelligence committee is given place over the second impeachment. I'm sure that will give more integrity to the process of impeaching a FORMER POTUS who is no longer in office. I wonder if Chief Justice Roberts also sees this as stupid?

I think trump made a deal with someone and walked away from the kraken that Sydney Powell had lined up to save himself and his family, honestly.

Biden calls Trump ‘unfit’ but doesn’t endorse impeachment

I was wondering too… did he have the nerve to pull the trigger ?..if so it would have meant some upheaval and bloodshed. Perhaps he didn't have the stomach for it.

But to run for cover now and play some subsequent role in politics also doesn’t make sense either when he could have squashed the coup when he had the chance.

Anyhow, back to the op, if the Chief Justice does not preside, the proceedings are null and void as it is my understanding the Constitution requires the Chief Justice to preside.

I’ve heard that he only has to preside over a sitting president...not one who’s out of office now.
