I assure you he was begging for the reaction he received when he addressed himself as father.

It quickly went too far with the child molestation accusations and he did not merit that kind of treatment. He knows he does not have a doctrinal leg to stand on so he has a good excuse to disappear without further comment. That is too bad as it would have been beneficial for him to defend doctrine instead of the personal allegations.

I agree he should have stayed, but then time is precious for a priest. I have often wondered why I am one of the few defending the church here and I admit not doing a good job. Please understand , imo, from reading the link, he knew he was coming to a site extremely hostile to Catholics. Anybody reading this thread knows that is the truth.

Yes, Charles Stanley is very good. I also like his son Andy Stanley. Both are fine preachers of the Word of God. :)
 
I have all of Dr. Charles Stanly books and I also listen to his broadcasts and I listen to him on the radio.

I agree with both of you that Dr. Charles Stanly is the best. In fact he could run rings around Pope Francis!
 
Your remark indicates all Catholics molest children. That is not true.

I am not a Catholic, and do not agree with their theology. I also think that child molestation deserves the death penalty, whether it's done by a Catholic or a Protestant.

However, your remarks are simply inflammatory and inappropriate.

You don't seem at all concerned with their eternal salvation. Your rhetoric is not reflective of a converted mind. Do you really think you are going to help anyone who is not saved along in their path if you treat them that way?

They also reject all family members who have left the Catholic Church and refuse to even speak to them.

The Catholics are not willing to listen to the Word of God.
 
That's funny, because I know many Catholics who have came to faith.

How can you claim that they have no capacity to receive salvation? People have been saved out of every walk of life.

And talking disrespectfully and hatefully to a person doesn't increase their chances of you teaching anything to them in terms of salvation, no matter who they are.

God can save anyone. He knocked the apostle Paul off his donkey and blinded him to bring him to faith.

I'm ashamed to be a Protestant sometimes due to posts like this. But, then, none of the people I know from my Evangelical Free church would convey such an attitude. There are tares and goats in Christianity too. I hope no Catholic people think that all Protestants are so hateful.

By the way, I was in a cult and was saved even then, being very doctrinally confused. I do not agree with Catholic theology but I wouldn't claim all Catholics are unsaved either, as I denied the salvation of others as a member of my cult and held to bad theology then. I had placed my faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and had a relationship with him in spite of my doctrinal issues.

mwc68, is it true that Catholics reject family members who leave Catholicism for a different Christian group? I suppose it's true with some but not in the main.

We don't reject family members that leave the faith. Islam does that. We remain family and try to urge them to return, but we do not reject them.

My wife was a catholic......and get this, she was saved there! My father in law and mother in law are catholic........and get this, they are saved.

My wife left the catholic church.......and get this, they still like her and have a relationship with her.

My sister in law was catholic and left.........but she was saved while in the catholic church. She is still welcomed by her family.

My father in law and mother in law both sit down and talk about the bible with us.

You sound more boxed up then the people you describe.

How you know they save,

They pray to and ask Mary to pray for them.

I don't know if born again christian communicate to the dead.

its probably not usually so in the US. But it is certainly true in other parts of the world.
 
Most Catholics have not received Salvation because they believe that being Baptized as an Infant has given them Salvation and they do not go seeking for it.
 
God is forgiving even of doctrinal error. Some people don't understand that.

And, as a member of Worldwide Church of God, I considered all others to be unsaved besides my denomination too. It wasn't until I realized I was the deceived one that things changed.

That injected some humility into me.

By the way, one guy is criticizing me for making comments like this concerning Catholicism. The funny thing is that he belongs to my former fellowship. This fellowship teaches that they are the only ones saved, and that they are god beings in embryonic form who will join the Godhead at the resurrection. Believe it or not, with his degree of doctrinal error, he is criticizing Catholic theology.

I don't agree with Catholic theology but I do believe it is possible for a Catholic to be saved while still remaining in the Catholic church, at least for a while. It isn't the healthiest environment for them, though.

We are not anti-science we are anti-pseudoscience!

We do not listen to the rantings of people who have stop taking their meds.

That teaching is a shame, but if they had a loving Christian friend who could expose them to the gospel message, that would counteract such teaching. Being hateful like some are here won't help any.

I think we also need to earn the right to speak to someone on these issues by building a relationship with them.
 
Every time some one exposes the Catholics to what the Holy Spirit says in the Scriptures, they trample all over the Scripture saying its only your opinion.

Why sparkman are you condemning Christians here for what they say? Why are you attacking the True Christians in favor of supporting the lies from the Catholics on this site?

You need to get off your throne and stop condemning us True Christians.

so are we back to throwing stones, convict a child molester to death.

back to an eye for an eye, what about turn the other check, love and pray for them,

not condem and toss away.

p.s. i agree the [that Catholics LOVE to molest little boys.] was wrong.

there is good and evil all around, not just in the churches,

but the judge will start at or in the church first, and more harsh then others.
