perhaps you might consider the fact that YOU do not know what Roman Catholicism is apart from in your own individual church. I have cited from many Roman Catholic sources. you clearly disagree with them. Who is right? you (untaught as you admit you are) or the saints and popes whom I have cited?
Let me try again to explain it to you again mwc68.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches Mary had to be without sin in order to keep Jesus Christ without sin.
If the womb of Mary had to be without sin to keep Jesus free of sin then Mary's mother womb had to be without sin also.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches Mary's mother did not have to be without sin to keep Mary without sin.
So according to the Roman Catholic Church God did not have the power to keep Jesus Christ without sin. If God did not have the power to keep Jesus without sin then God did not have the power to keep Mary without sin either. Therefore it was by the power of Mary herself that keep her without sin which means Mary has more power then God.
Therefore the Doctrine of Mary being without sin proves the Roman Catholic Church teaches Mary is greater than God because God did not have the power to keep Jesus Christ without sin.

It is not a set up to search out from a person just what it is he or she believes about salvation. It can only be a good thing to discover you have it right. It is equally good to discover that there is a dissonance in one's understanding of salvation and the Lord is pleased to bring correction to an open heart!

The very idea that somehow Jesus needed "keeping" from sin is quite a far-fetched and fleshly notion, isn't it? What about a woman's womb would impart sin to a growing fetus that is holy? This is only coming from religious and catholic thinking that cannot perceive that Jesus is sinless from the beginning, and is impervious to sin!

I can't sleep right now. Usually happens when i am going to perform. If could please tell some of my story. I was a total Heavy Metal musician living for the glory of the stage. I have played in several bands and really only succeeded in "fame" here locally, and the surrounding area. The last metal band i was in played regularly in Houston, Dallas, Beaumont, Lake Charles and many places in between. When I was on stage it was all about me! I did this for years not recognizing where the talent came from. 11 Yrs ago certain events happened and this band fell apart and i was faced with maybe never getting on stage again with a high caliber band. 5 Yrs ago i volunteered to sing in the church choir, yet playing guitar and singing was always my passion. I heard from God during this period, not an audible voice, but definitely a voice inside loud and clear. He told me if I wanted back on that stage, i better start praising him with all my music! Within a few months, our Lifeteen service (mass) needed a guitar player. I was asked if i would play by our music director and i said sure. I thought i would be playing "church" music. No prob. What they were playin was Contemporary Christian Music! I had never heard this in church before and was extremely excited how this type of music was more " rock" oriented. God reminded me of what He told me, and reminded me i was on the stage again, so to speak. When I finally reailized God gave me this talent for Him, everything changed. I became the Lifeteen Music Director 2 yrs ago and the response has been amazing!! I am playing this gig tonite with two local Christian bands and i am doing what i know God has personally asked me to do That's part of my story and i felt the need to share since i think we really got off on the wrong foot
There is nothing wrong mwc68 in doing what God wants you to do. There is nothing wrong with using your talents for God. We are not attacking you for who you are, we are trying to show you the Truth that is from the Holy Spirit that you will not find in the Roman Catholic Church.
Its one thing to be ignorant of the Truth from the Holy Spirit, but its a totally different thing to knowing teach lies as Truths from the Holy Spirit.

I've read through about 16 pages of this thread... Just one question, if Catholics are such an abomination then why has it not faded as so many other religions? Around 900 other Christian religions ( last count, and not including those going extinct today!)have faded away since the 1600's why? Do you also think the Jewish religion is an abomination, after all they have mysticism and numerology and they defiantly do not believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior ( to clarify; there is a current movement in the Jewish community for those who believe in Jesus, this only within the last 10 or so years) only a man who was a great teacher and turned his back on his kind...
All religions are flawed, they all are contaminated by the egos of man... we just choose for our self's the less of these evils we can live with or ignore. There is great beauty in the Catholic religion, that has inspired men for centuries, just as there is profound teachings in many religions that are popular today... if you can not see the hand of God in each of them as we are shaped and molded you have lost the true heart of Christ himself! He taught tolerance, he taught unconditional love and forgiveness...
If I did not know better, and as a newbie to this site, I would run like hell after reading some of these threads... I fully understand this is a forum, but the intolerance, lack of respect for others opinions who are trying so hard to find their way home just amazes me...

If you think that Christ taught unconditional love and forgiveness to men whatever they believe you are in a sad state indeed. He declared that 'no man comes to the Father except by me. And He also said, 'if you do not believe that I AM HE you will die in your sins'. Jesus did not believe that there were many ways to God

Even in this one predominantly protestant Christian site, there are diverse views on those very "doctrines".
I have read a dozen different versions of just how he "is returning to take home His own and judge the world".
and page after page debating salvation by 'faith alone', "OSAS" or 'faith plus works' etc etc etc.
And beyond this site, clearly, there are millions, indeed billions (?) of sincere, educated folk who use the very same 'scripture' but draw very different conclusions.
The Roman Catholics of course but also the Orthodox Churches (refer to the filioque) and everyone from the Amish to the Lutherans, the Coptics and the Anglicans - before we even start to ponder all the fringe-dwellers like adventists and JWs and Mormons, Bretheren and literally thousands of others. ............
And yes, they do differ about major stuff.
I know, I know.You think you've nailed it down to a few cut-and-dried basics and that any variation is simply wrong.
I have no doubt you are perfectly sincere in that belief but in reality it is quite arrogant.
Milions of others, with equal sincerity and just as many smarts believe quite differently.
Therefore, the message simply cannot be all that clear-cut.

Why hasn't the Catholic Church just faded away since it is supposedly such an abomination? Very good question! I would say its because right after Jesus made Peter the first pope and established the church he said the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. I know this is why the Church is still here no matter how much stuff is brought against the church. The sex abuse scandal was major, yet it seemed satan concentrated on the Catholic. Church. The church has still prevailed. The people here who distort the church's teachings , the church continues to prevail. Jesus started the church and will not let satan tear it down. to some how make it satanic
