It just shows a generic icon and the name of the file is struck through. No way to post it. The attachment is very small, 112kb.

M, do you know if you can attach/post a photo in a conversation message box or not? I can't see an option for it, and it won't paste. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place!
PMs require a url to display images. That means having an image host if it is a file on your computer, which you can upload to a site like https://postimages.org/ (<= link) or, using an image from a cached site like ipinimg or some other media host which allows file sharing.
CC itself can act as an image host for files in your media, also

If you put an image in your media, found on this page: ChristianTonyB - Christian Chat Rooms & Forums
You can then get the link for that image on the right hand side of the page where it is displayed.
There are a number of links given, but the best is the second line, which puts it in the required tags.

I'm probably not seeing what I am looking at, but should I be seeing a MEDIA tab on my profile header page?
Oops! Your media is displayed from that page, but has to be uploaded through the front or main page of this site, where the new media is. New life-bits - Christian Chat Rooms & Forums In the upper right hand corner of that page is a little blue box that says, + Share life-bit. It does need to be mod or owner approved, but once it's there, it stays there unless you remove/delete it.

Rainy, hazy day of Autumn here today. It's Monday, and a special day for Veterans and Service members and their families, and New Zealanders, Australians and some Pacific Islanders as a whole.
I'm really appreciative of people sharing their interests and insights on this thread, and throughout CC. It is sooo educational, I've learnt heaps. Thank you fellow members and staff
The cat's been quite sookie today, demanding to be stroked. One must obey, sorta... I give her a pat every now and again, and she seems happy enough with that. Must be the rainy weather 
Speaking of things cat, my cat minder has decided to do a runner...can't blame her really, I've thought of doing the same.
She and her husband have put their house up for sale to move closer to their grand kids down on the Gold Coast. I'm running an ad on the Christian House Share website in Oz, to see if I can get a house and Cat minder to cover me for a fortnight from the 21st May. I'm visiting my natural born family down south then, and have to meet a dermatology appointment in Brisbane after that. If you know of anyone that's available and would be interested in doing that, could you give them a shout please. I'll furnish them with a copy of my Police Check/Clearance report to prove they won't be getting a knock on the door in the wee hours of the morning from the local Mafia, looking for sugar for their tea. If they need more than 2 weeks here to make it worth their while, that can be arranged.
Off to do some work in the kitchen now, then a bit of filing, a workout on the exercise bike, then easing down for the day and night.
May everyone have a fantastic day and week ahead, enveloped by the grace of the one and only true God, the great I AM. Shalom

I noticed today that there is no attachment option in private messages. I was trying to send a member here a PDF file and ended up using a temporary upload site.
I understand space is finite on the server and i'm not complaining but i'm mentioning it in case others didn't know.

It might be a browser thing. Sometimes my browser refuses to let me do anything with formatting, including bold, pictures, even undo.
Try clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes it.
Pretty sure it's just not an available option. I'm unable to do it, either. And can't remember being able to in the past.
