They really are. Not even kidding. I w*rk at one of those places and it looks exactly like the second picture. They have publicly stated that they are trying to distance themselves from a, fun for kids, image and cultivate a, cheap fast lunch for working people, image.
If they're moving up to youth group, I wonder if THAT's why every McDonald's looks like a prison now.
Seriously.
I've been to a few prisons (as a visitor, not an inmate) and I can think of one that had old red brick?
So... Nowadays even maximum-security prisons have more color than McDonald's.
All they need now is the barbed-wire fencing, and MickeyD's would be the new CELL Block D...
