Are you not familiar with the "groan response" to a joke - to indicate how "painful" the climax/conclusion/ending of the joke was?

Probably whoever posting meant after a fair trial. But sure, if found guilty of treason, I'd have no hesitation sending every one of those found guilty to jail, or having them face whatever the just penalty is for treason. Justice can seem harsh sometimes, but it is for the best.
