I have doubts that it would prevent your dog from pulling out stitches on a paw, but there may be a way to use it with an empty gallon water jug. Depending on the size of your dog, with some creativity, maybe one could be shaped with scissors, leaving the handle, cutting slots to feed the collar through, would block access. Just thinking out loud.
BTW, is your dog better now or still healing?

She's better now. But having this for the future, just in case, is helpful.
