Can women be Pastors?

Respectfully, what does any of this have to do with being a pastor? It says "the woman" was deceived, not "all women".

I would encourage you to look up the Hebrew for "help meet" and see where else it is used in the OT... and of whom. You might be surprised.

DOES the immaculate conception of the virgin MARY by the HOLY SPIRIT indicate that because the "" GOOD NEWS "" WAS BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD BY A WOMAN ALSO MEAN THAT WOMEN SURELY CAN "" PREACH "" THE GOOD NEWS
 
During Jesus time Roman women played a limited role in public life. They could not attend, speak in, or vote at political assemblies and they could not hold any position of political responsibility.

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
(NOTE: Because Eve was decieved she receive's several judgements/punishments. Note the last judgement: And your husband shall have rule over her)

1 Tim 2:13-14 Paul writes via the Holy Spirit. Women can't teach or have spiritual authority over men. Therefore women can't serve in a public setting as Pastor, whereby exercising spiritual authority over men.

1 Tim 2:11-14 Vs 13 explains why women can't teach or have authority over men. Adam was created 1st. Eve was the one deceived, not Adam (vs 13-14). God created Adam 1st Eve & to be a Adam's help mate. Eph 5:22-33 lays out the same order in the family & the church.

Scripture instructs women to teach other women & children Titus 2:3-5. Verse 14 makes her manager of the household (this was also Roman policy of the time).

Having said the above: Scripture mandates the man to place a higher value on his wife's life, then on his own. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. It doesn't tell her to lay down her life first. This verse teaches just how much value God places on women. MOO!

Genesis 3:16 is not a statement of punishment or judgment; it is a statement of certain consequence. Similarly, the words spoken to the man were statements of consequence. Think of it in terms of "This is what is going to happen," rather than, "This is what I command to happen."

But that isn't what the text says. It says "I do not permit a woman...", not "Women are not permitted...". In context it is addressing women (or even one particular woman) who were (was) previously taught in the pagan belief system and needed instruction in the truth before teaching others.

Paul wrote these words to counter false teachings that Eve was created first and was not deceived.

Ephesians 5:22-23 doesn't speak about order in the assembly at all.

Which doesn't preclude her from leadership in the assembly. If by this passage, women are restricted to teaching younger women, then the passage also restricts men from teaching younger women. Good exegesis requires consistency.

I think Paul was speaking to the congregation and the chaos within the Corinthian church folks standing up speaking in tongues etc. the Corinthians probably had a lot of women wildly speaking.

there’s no instructions to the pastor position itself just to the congregation, many would like to extend the context to pastoring but that’s not what the verses are speaking of in my opinion, the gift of tongues and the use of prayer.

That is only one of the passages. And even if there was only one passage, it would suffice. Rationalization does not validate anything that is not in Scripture.

Paul wasn’t speaking about pastoring, pretty simple, I know you believe it can be extended to pastoring but it was about speaking in tongues and praying openly in the church of Corinthians.

The real question would be better stated as does God anoint and appoint women to be pastors over men? It is not what we want but what God has established by His sovereign decree. Men will do what men want to do but God only does what He has stated in His word.

Do you want a pastor gifted to the church by God or a pastor who will tickle your ears.

Paul was not against women being prophesies as long as it’s in a orderly fashion, and the prophesies can speak publicly for a prophet isn’t a prophet unless they speak.


5 but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven.
 
What the flop is going on here, this isn’t a orderly fashion, women and men screaming like Banshee’s

If the woman is led by the Holy Spirit to do so, then yes, of course a woman can be a pastor. Paul mentioned that 'he' forbids such a thing but does not specifically state that God expressly forbids this. In short, Paul was offering his own personal opinion based on his life experiences, culture and social environment at that time.

The order of the priesthood was always male and never any females. The church is a new order of the priesthood but again never headed by a female. This will never stop some from usurping the authority and others from following but it is a path that one takes on their own and God is not walking that path.

Even so, the woman would do well to follow where she is led by the Holy Spirit. That is true for anyone, whether male or female.

Is the priesthood for the whole race or just the man race?
