There are many people that believe in the shedding of the blood; they believe that the Lord Jesus died, but they have not appropriated His work for themselves, and so are not resting under the sprinkled blood. To have rested only on the fact that the lamb had been killed would not have brought safety; but having done what God had told them, the children of Israel were safe. Nothing but the blood could keep out the destroying angel;

Off topic. The question was: who sprinkled the blood? Who applied the blood to the mercy seat? A high priest? A single person representing the whole? Or each person? Wonder why that was? What could that have been foreshadowing?

Was Paul a church father? He certainly spoke of its imminency.

Sometime 2 thousand years ago the sun went out all the water on earth turned to blood and killed every living thing is the sea. And yet out of the 2k languages being spoke and written at the time not one person recorded that somewhere. The worst most horrible time in all history and no one wrote it down??? How did life get back into water if it all died for example?

Are we not commanded to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Is rejecting Christ a sin?
If unbelief 'encouraged' sin, and faith 'generates' righteousness, with being given that not everyone is saved, even though it is made possible that everyone might be saved then it seems to me that pivotal factor, which God would choose, as He so willed, is the choice to believe or not to believe. Aside from that consideration whether choice is the sin or the problematic motor of the sin, if you are comfortable insisting that "all" does not always mean "all" with regard to application of salvation, reasoning that to be left to God's sovereign will, how can they deny the possibility that it may not be God's will to atone for 'all' sin save one?

What is the significance of sinner having to place their hand upon the sacrifice's head.

That's de-creation language. It is often used in times of judgment. In other words, when God creates, the language is of light and order and newness and life. The sun going out is the opposite of...let there be light. Everything in the sea dying is the opposite of newness of life and reminiscent of a plague and judgment of Egypt. So the language is largely symbolic.
It is recorded, and by God, in the book of Revelation and the gospels. What do you make of Matthew 27:51-53?

what you are describing is the observance of the passover the people were to keep in memory of God having brought the children of Israel out of bondage:

Exodus 12:24-28

24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

28 And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

The instruction at the time of the original Passover when the children of Israel were still in Egypt ...

Exodus 12:3-13

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

According to the instruction, the people were to take the blood and strike the doorpost ... the people were to eat the roasted lamb ... dressed and ready to depart from Egypt.

We follow an observance in our day and time when we partake of communion as a memorial of the new covenant established by the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

God does atone for all sin, save 1. We simply disagree on what that sin is.

Faith doesn't generate righteousness. God in us does, willing and doing of His good pleasure, conforming us into the image of Christ.
Unbelief is simply a state of not believing. It doesn't encourage sin or not encourage it. We sin when we walk after the flesh. All unbelievers are always in the flesh. They follow that nature. They also do not operate in faith, and so are never pleasing to God.

Have you ever studied the changes made from the Passover to the Lord's supper?

@Cameron143 cannot count?

"YE SHALL": (8) times.

Not to mention the eternal redemption of the Nation Israel that happens apx 7 years thereafter.

Evidently @Cameron143 bonked out in eschatology class along with soteriology.

Why do you keep changing the subject. The question was: who applied the blood? Every person or a representative, such as a priest or God Himself?

A teacher had better know the RIGHT answers to the questions that he asks.
Do you? (Rhetorical question) :sneaky:

I get why you don't want answer. The answers will undermine your arguments.

So one priest, once a year, sprinkles blood on the mercy seat. What is God teaching?
Do you ever actually post Bible passages as proofs?
Your own opinions are meaningless without them.

And boy are you ever full of opinions.....

You know.......like your view of the rapture and millennium.
Utterly absurd and biblically illiterate.

As usual, you can only appeal with insults and discussions with you are never edifying. Grace and peace.
