She isn't a calvinist

YES SHE IS, ALONG WITH YOU GUYS.

Why do you try so hard to distance yourselves from the VERY teachings you believe in?

You guys are calvies...And you guys try to separate yourselves from the very teachings you push....... SAD.

They want the doctrine but not the baggage that comes with it, but the doctrine is the baggage!

Such a quandary to be in.

No what is sad is how you and your brood label people in such an ungodly manner not very christian of you

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:18
What does that verse have to do with anything? and also.... Jesus himself said it so your beef is with him

Nothing, but it is out of context.
If I take it at face value I can drink poison and be safe.

She isn't a calvinist and I don't think she thinks salvation is only for some. Why do people keep throwing that term around it is not a term you can just label someone because you disagree with them
Because it's much easier for them than having a respectable discussion.

They lead you on and on. The idea for this battle tactic is too never agree to anything you say, they after this say something that will keep you going. The idea is to cause you pain.

'Can't get any satisfaction'.

You have to do what the word of God says, 'Don't throw more fuel on the fire.'

To be honest it it sad because it shows that they have no intention of having any discussion they are only interested in arguing no wonder @Magenta left the debate and I don't mean sad in an insulting way but legit sad we are called to love one antoher to encourage and learn not slander and mock and argue amongst each other

I doubt they do this merely to insult I think it runs deeper than that

So then are we not getting the full truth unless it is in the greek?

It all depends on which passage was poorly translated.
But you will be missing details that will lead to assumptions that should not be, if the Greek and Hebrew (with their tenses)
are revealed in the translation. Kenneth Wuest's translation is an eye-opener if you can get your hands on one.

But it must be placed into the correct context of time.

It was meant only for the very early days of the church, when Christianity was unknown to many.
At a time when they pretty much only had the Gospel and 99% of the NT was not yet written.

People at that time needed signs and wonders to fill in the void until the NT was complete.

I don’t know if this will answer your question or not but the Lord prevented them from eating of the tree of life BECAUSE they had eaten from the tree of knowledge which was the first sin. If they had then eaten from the tree of life they would have lived eternally in their sin without a chance to to be made right again. So God saved them from eternal damnation showing them grace when He had every right as the Creator to end their lives right then and there. He didn’t. He clothed them and protected them from spending an eternity separated from Him. I hope this makes sense… I’m usually bad at explaining things. Haha.
I totally agree with your summation, but I was questioning someone who posted that Adam and Eve HAD EATEN from the tree of life and that God, after they sinned and had eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam THEN prevented Eve from partaking any further. I don't think that is from the same Bible that I read, study and meditate on, as a matter of fact, I know it isn't.

What evidence do you have to believe it was only for the early church and not for everyone? seems like an excuse to discount what Jesus said unless you have some type of evidence to back it up

I mean honestly is it not the word of God?

The solution is easy upon careful exegesis of the Genesis post-Fall narrative. In a nutshell, God clearly saved Eve per his decree to the Serpent in Gen 3:15. Adam is as conspicuously absent from this passage as Eve is in 3:22-24. And for the record, I don't believe the "tree of life" contained any substance in it that would impart spiritual life, anymore than I believe that the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil, is what literally gave A&E such knowledge; for their disobedience did that. Both trees are most likely symbolic representations.
Then why banish them and cut them off from the tree of life, with flaming swords at that? After eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they had a reaction , their eyes were opened, (they knew they had done evil, that's why thy hid) just as the serpent said. So you think that the fruit was only symbolic?? If they had eaten of the tree of life i am convinced that there would have been an opposite reaction, instead of "surely die" I believe they would surely live, forever.

Go ahead drink poison.

Do know that the story of Adam and Eve is very old, and was handed down by word, from person to person generation to generation before it was recorded.
