With all due respect, I don't think you're correct with your analysis here.

I have talked with Calvinists on and off for many years since 2010 on various different Christian forums.
I also looked at their statements on their own websites.
I know about their five TULIPS in their belief system and what they mean.
That is exactly what they believe.
Some may try to hide this from you, but that is really what they believe.
Its insanity. Some may try to slowly trap you into their belief system and then build you up to believing that.
Don't fall for their tricks.

B_H does not believe the Bible because he does not like what it says.

Romans9-11-13.png

Romans 9 verses 11-13 ~ Before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, in order that God’s plan of election might stand, not by works but by Him who calls, she (Rebekah) was told, “The older will serve the younger.” So it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

Well, perhaps I'm a Calvinist now!

The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8 v 6-8 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2 v 13-14

Proverbs-Fearofthe-Lord.png

The fear of the Lord leads to life, that one may rest content, without visitation from harm. Proverbs 19 v 23 He who fears the Lord is secure in confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. Proverbs 14 v 26-27 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9 v 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1 v 7 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor. Proverbs 15 v 33 His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation. Luke 1 v 50 By the fear of the LORD one turns aside from evil. Proverbs 16 v 6B

Psalm36-1-4.png

Psalm 36 verses 1-4 ~ An oracle is in my heart regarding the transgression of the wicked man: There is no fear of God before his eyes. For his eyes are too full of conceit to detect or hate his own sin. The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and well-doing. Even on his bed he plots wickedness; he sets himself on a path that is not good; he fails to reject evil.

I am trying to ascertain if you are saying this as a joke or if you are being serious.
If you are serious, did you consider Calvinism before or believe in Calvinism before this thread at some point?

....
I was being a bit sarcastic in that post; However, having said that, I've now understood and learnt the truth from sister Magenta;

You believe in prevenient grace. To believe this, one has to believe in the depravity of man. So you agree with Calvin on this. You are at least a 1 point Calvinist.
And you were wrong just the other day about an aspect of Calvinism and said so. So you seem very confused about Calvinism for someone who professes to understand it well.

Thank you. I was a bit worried there because of my dealings with Calvinists in the past.
So the dog analogy is okay with you?
Its okay for the master to punt his dog like a football instead of getting it help?
This is what you must accept if you are leaning towards Calvinism.

It took him fifteen years to figure one thing out. We can pray his process will quicken from here on out.

God has saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. Jesus Christ is the author and perfecter of my faith, which was not by my will, effort or desire.

I am primarily an Arminian when it comes to this topic.
However, I believe Arminianism is incorrect on their point called "Total Depravity" which also is a point in Calvinism.
I believe this point should be replaced with "Partial Depravity."
I believe the Bible teaches there is a partial blindness and depravity in this life for mankind.

It is true that Scripture teaches that people are naturally blinded by Satan so that the light of the gospel does not reach them (2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV). In that state there is none that understand and none that seek after God (Romans 3:11 KJV). We are by nature children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3 KJV).

That said, Scripture also teaches that Jesus draws all men to Himself (John 12:32 KJV) and the Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin (John 16:8 KJV). God can open the heart to understand the message when the gospel is preached (Acts 16:14 KJV). Under this enablement or enlightenment by God, one can either accept the gospel or reject it (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV). This is known as Prevenient Grace in Arminianism, but I prefer to called a "Temporary Enablement or Enlightenment," instead.

Scripture then places believing as the response God requires before someone becomes a child of God, receives spiritual life and is sealed by the Holy Spirit (John 1:12 KJV) (John 20:31 KJV) (Ephesians 1:13 KJV). After first being saved by God’s grace through faith without works, God’s grace then teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live righteously in this present world (Titus 2:11-12 KJV). The gospel calls us to the fact that God has chosen you to salvation through the Sanctification of the Spirit and a belief of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 KJV).

@Bible_Highlighter, if Calvinism were true, then even its rejection would be by God’s design/eternal decree, as He decreed those to reject it, thus doing God’s will, making its very defense meaningless.
