One thing thatās hard to argue against is the reliability of AI tools when it comes to helping with write-ups, creating images, and finding the information you need. For example, ChatGPT is great at analyzing a super large PDF that could be hundreds of pages long. It can read an academic research paper that would normally be hard for you to read or understand. For instance, thereās an academic paper by Mike Fernando defending the Johannine Comma (
1 John 5:7 KJV reading). Itās also a rather large free PDF. Instead of spending years of my life trying to understand academic reading and go through the PDF myself, ChatGPT can help me find the information Iām looking for or explain it in a way that even a child could understand.
Donāt feel like watching that 4 hour long YouTube video but want to know what it said? Now you can. Download the transcript from YouTube with tips from ChatGPT and have it analyze the PDF transcript. Perplexity.ai is also good if you want to check sources. ChatGPT has given me some false claims in the past that didnāt pan out, but these AIs are still useful. For example, I was clueless about how to redirect my website domain to Canva.com, so I took screenshots of what to do at my domain ownership site, and ChatGPT walked me through the process step by step. On my own, this would have been way too difficult to do. There was also a time I didnāt know what size grate to get for my grill because there were too many options on Amazon for the model I had. ChatGPT told me to take a picture of the model number and guided me step by step to find the exact fit I needed and it worked great. There are many more examples I could give. It would be like trying to explain the usefulness of the internet to a person who is too old fashioned to use a computer or a smart device. They just won't understand it unless you have them experience the benefits of it. Sure, there downsides in all useful new technologies. But you take the pros and cons and you weigh them in the balance according to your needs.
Side Note:
The research I gave in this thread on Reformed Theology (a.k.a. Calvinism) was with the help of Ai.
Granted, I checked those sources in some cases.
