Wrong. He did not die for everyone! As we are clearly told in the verses below - that all and only those the Son died for, they must become reconciled to the Father and saved.
The unsaved by not being reconciled weren't those whom He died for. IOW, by the Son's death, that everyone covered by it must become reconciled to the God, so those unsaved weren't covered.
i.e., death of the son = reconciled.

God is 100% love for those who trust him, who fear Him, who are righteous and who love his Son (Ps 32:10; 103:11, 17; 146:8; Jn 14 21, 23; 15:10; 16:27). In fact, God loves his sheep, for whom Christ prayed in Jn 17, just as much as He loves his Son (v. 23).

If Christ died for all, then where is the redemptive covenant in scripture that God cut with the entire human race? And where in the Abrahamic Covenant did God promise to make Abraham the father of all people in the distributive sense? John 8 verses 43, 47, Acts 13 verse 48, Romans 8 verse 8, John 8 verse 43 “Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message.” “Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God .

And when Jesus said they're unable to believe because they don't belong to God, He's saying they don't believe because they are not His sheep!
