Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Do you ever wonder why the Angel stated the reason for calling the Babe, Jesus, is because He shall save His people?

Jesus, as a word, is not the exact pronunciation from the name given, rather, it is simply a transliteration, that is a word that sounds similar in one's chosen language to use His Name.

His name comes from Yeshi, my Redeemer, and Yah, shortened Yahweh.

No, I am not going haywire into Hebrew Roots nor Jews for Jesus. No, I simply prefer to say what the Angel said when pronouncing the Birth to Mary, Yeshua, from the aforementioned explanation

This does not make one a member of some splinter theological grouping, not at all.

So, at least, know what you are saying when you say, Jesus, and do not fault others for saying Yeshua, Yashua, or the
Biblical Hebrew, Yeshaya

HE WILL REDEEM HIS PEOPLE.

I would imagine that God makes allowance for people on earth to pray in their own language.

The Lord Jesus was the member of the God head that changed the language after the flood. There is certainly no problem with using the name Jehovah, but the English name is also valid. I have noticed that we sometimes have new Christians in our midst who may not have the advantage of previous Bible study. In the future I intend to explain my comments when appropriate as well as adapting a less combative attitude.

Gen 11:1, 4, 6-9 KJV - 1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. ... 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. ... 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

God Himself separated the languages, why wouldn't He accept the different names?

It seems you have not understood my post. Jesus is just fine when understanding the reason for His Name as given to Mary by the Angel.
However, there is no manner, other than by the Holy Spirit or some knowledge of Hebrew, for anyone to know the words composing His Holy Name given by God through His Angel.
I certainly believe that all who truly know Him as Jesus must have this knowledge from the Holy Spirit, however this name, Jesus, is not composed of the original Name given by the Angel, for the original name would be translated as My Redeemer Yah.
It is a great blessing and revelation to all who believe.
Jesus is a transliteration, not a translation. This should be enough for any to understand.

When she was told God with us, Emmanuel, it was to point to the prophecies fulfillment and to prove this was not merely a human baby.
Then Mary and Joseph were told that Greek Name as that was the common langue in that part of the world since Helenization under the Greek, then Roman empires.

Jesus comes from the Greek Iesous.

Languages evolve. When "j" was introduced, the "I" in Iesous became Jesous. Then the "o" was dropped from the suffix in His Name.
It has remained the same although different languages pronounce His Name differently.

IF we can believe a Muslim man in the Hospital very sick.. just dying.. man in white shows up.. the Muslim man asks "who are you" "Jesus He said". Muslim man in .. hmm Pacistain prison.. the short is. Man in white shows up.. this Muslim man runs to the corner saying forgive me forgive me over and over saying he just new how unworthy he was and how holy this man in white was.. holes in hands and feet. Ask who are you man in white says "I am the way the truth and the life". Muslim man says those words mean nothing to me "I am Jesus".

So seems the power is in the one that name belongs to. Jesus, Yeshau.. no other name heals the sick makes the blind see the deaf hear the lame walk the dead rise.. just Him. Yet some do speak names that are no where written.. Not talking about this post. So yes people should go search more not take someones post like mine or yours for the truth but find it for them selfs :)
