I believe the instruction in Gen 4:7 is separate and distinct from the offering brought by Cain and Abel as shown in Gen 4:3-4.
(Gen 4:7).
Okay, since you are able to separate and distinguish them like that, I can understand how you formed your interpretation of what went down then.

I had told u i reject that entire post and found it ridiculous. I dont know why you keep referring to that post. I fall in neither category. Appreciate if you not label me. Especially not by those ridiculous standards. Thanks in advance.
You keep jumping into discussions that you are not involved in. I was answering someone else's question.

So the way you interpret the Cain and Abel story is under my category 3. That is fine.

I don't understand why you are bringing in church offerings into this discussion. We no longer need to offer animals now.

You have no control over what others think about your posts anyway.

How am i controlling what you think. Im just asking not to label me your "ridiculous" categories. Hence as you see my opinion is that it is ridiculous. I cant control what you think. But im asking you not to label me with your categorical thinking.

You believe the reason Cain's offering was rejected by God, had nothing to do with the type of offering correct?

Type of offering no. I believe it was cain and his offering were wrong. Probly his leftovers or the part he didnt care much for. Not the choice produce. Reflects his lack of faith.

So if he offered the choice produce of grain, you believe God would have accepted it then?

He wouldnt. You can see that his heart wasnt right. No faith plus he didnt even care about his brother. I showed you the gift offering verse Jesus taught. That verse doesnt remind you of Cain at all? You dont think this has anything to do why God rejected Cain and his offering?

It had something to do about the way he felt about his brother seems like to me. Or do u think a man that has to till the field and work the land as opposed to watching over a flock seems like a fair deal to Cain? Some harbored resentment and jealousy. And to top that off God favors Abels offering more than Cains? Anger... Much like Josephs older brothers who hated Joseph and wanted to kill Joseph. Wouldnt have Jacob loved his sons as well as Joseph if his sons did well?

Cain chose hatred and murder. The devil got in Cains ear much like he did to Eve and how he does to everyone. Fiery darts. Thats who Cain followed. The offering is what set him off. But God knew his heart before he murdered his brother. We dont know their ages or how long Cain had been harboring his contempt for Abel. All we know is after this encounter with God and being rejected, Cain later kills him in the field.

If you love someone, and maybe the person gets promoted or succeeds in something that you do poorly at, youre not gonna murder the person. Because you love them, youre going to congratulate them. But for someone who doesnt like you and is already hating, if you succeed and that makes the other person feel less than. This is what you end up with. A person wanting revenge. Just like Josephs brothers.

So, in your view, it has nothing to do with the offering, whether type or quality, but his attitude/anger/hatred or what you would sum up as, "lack of faith".

I see no meaningful difference between your view and my 3rd category.

How can cain be an atheist lol he gave an offering to God and God spoke to him? So he denies a God is exists? Thats crazy... who teaches that cain is an athiest lol
The Bible teaches Cain is a atheist as in no faith that comes from hearing God. Cain wanted it his way not believing in a God not seen .

A person cannot believe in God a little . Atheism represents all the pagan religions of the world in respect to the imaginations of ones heart. Claiming not to be a atheist does not cause one to be born again.

He was following his own deceitful heart like those in Hebrew 6 tasted of the good things to come but fell away in unbelief... showing he had no faith to begin with

Just as was Abel offering the work of his hands as in self edification until he heard the voice.. . "keep bringing what you have been it is what required". Some might call it a coincident that the second born had that job of tending sheep in the family.

Again the bible does not say God slew a lamb.

Genesis 4: 1-7 (KJV)

1) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. 2) And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3) And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4) And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5) But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6) And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7) If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Have three questions (for now) pertaining to this:

Why did God not have respect unto Cain and to his offering?

What sin was at the door, that Cain did not do well?

What did God mean when He said "and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him"?

Do not see much to go on, unless it is explained later in scripture. Thanks in advance.
key word firstlings, did Cain bring the firstlings? the word applies to the first agricultural produce or animal offspring of a season

I was pointing out to you and to anyone else. An Offering and a Sacrifice two seperate things. Were talking about Abel and Cains offering. They werent bringing a sacrifice to God. It would be ridiculous to brings fruits and veggies. I know you agree thats why youre not saying anything.

People need to stop changing words to scripture and make it mean something else. Cain being an atheist and things that are just so far beyond what scripture is teaching us.
An atheist is a fool .A fool is reckonened as having no God of the scriptures in his hearts. Christian can do foolish things but that does not make them a atheist. (no faith zero)

All men are born atheists. Cain was one did not believe God showed his unbelief by trying to kill the message of the gospel by ridding that which the eyes see. The pagan form of religion out of sight out of mind. No faith needed. This shows he was condemned and will not rise on the last day .

Light came into Cain's atheists world but he loved in own job and self edification and not the job of God moving Abel to believe. God does not condemn non atheists.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.John 3:18-19

Yes someone who does not believe in the one God. Having many gods from the imagination of his own heart before our one God.

When a atheist is angry with God whom he knows not. . . he looks for fault in people in order to kill the gospel .Plowed his brother under the fruit of the field. His blood sacrifice. Out of sight out of mind.

Yes but Cain knew there was a God, he talked with God, so saying Cain was a atheist doesn’t line up.
Cain spoke to the Lord he wasn’t an atheist

Gen 4
13But Cain said to the LORD, “My punishmentd is greater than I can bear.14Behold, this day You have driven me from the face of the earth, and from Your face I will be hidden; I will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”

Yes Cain also did bring the first fruit of the crop. And then the lord is shown as having grace in respect to Abel. The determination was not yet known .Abel walked by faith the unseen .Not show me a sign and then I will have faith.
