So many times I have read the account of Ruth, and her courage.

This morning in my reading I was given to read the family name of Boaz, who became her husband.

He is from the family of Elimelech. Now, how I have let this slip by me so many times, only one of you could tell me, for I cannot fathom it.

Eli as most know means My God, while melech means King.

Ruth married into the family of My God the King.

Then names in the Word are so informative. I love them all for this property.

yeah ... I think it's pretty cool how God gives us insight. Same thing with names of cities.

Boaz lived in Bethlehem = house of bread. The Lord Jesus Christ is Bread of Life.

Shall we then speak of the first man, Adam. His ham may be translated as simply man. However the root of Adma is dam which means red. Adam was created from the earth, the earth was red. Dam dam is dark red. Dam is also the word for Blood.

It is certain there are many other branches to this root, dam. AS per your offer of Bethlehem, that is Beit Lechaem, our Lord does teach in plain words, "Iam the Bread from heaven."

Anyone who wishes, contribut more of these wonderful one word teachings.

Israel is sto reign with God.

Abraham is honored Father of nations.

Joshua son of Num is an older version of the name, Yeshua, Yah is Redeemer.

Isaiah 9:6 tells us the Babe born unto the virgen shall be called Almighty God, Counselor, Comforter, Ruler of peace Everlasting Father..........and more.

I could go on and on, but I should not, however I would love to hear what others have leared from the Writings of the Word. Actually I have been following many here....

Ruth is a Gentile Moabite woman which the Hebrews and Moabites were at odds with each other and Moab was known for child sacrifice and not a very good nation.

It could be that Ruth had to mingle Gentile blood in with Hebrew blood so that salvation could come upon the Gentiles which she turned to the God of Israel as her God.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem but is known as Jesus of Nazareth which I heard Nazareth was not known as a very good town and Nathanael said can anything good come out of Nazareth which Jesus was victorious over sin although He was living in Nazareth.

Perhaps this is pertinent, the nations were promised to be blessed through Abraham when God gave the Gospel to h him.

Abraham = Honored Father of the peoples. This title refers to more than just Abraham in this age, but at first one must understaand how it refers to all in this age.

Rahab and Ruth are two gentile women named in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ ... (Matt 1:5).

Rahab was the woman who hid the spies at the time of Jericho (Joshua 2). Salmon married Rahab. Salmon and Rahab were the father and mother of Boaz.

Ruth was a Moabitess. The Moabites were descended from Lot (Gen 19:37).

Genesis 17:3-5 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Abram = exalted father

Abraham = father of a multitude

Hello!
The Moabites were descended from Lot (Gen 19:37).
2Pet 2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
2Pet 2:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds; )

God Bless!

People in the forums are constantly throwing out names of books and authors to read.

Some hafe an affinity for languages, and they like to share what little they have to share.

There is no need for others to be required to pursue the same endeabor as do others, this is only natural and not a sin.
