To me it sounds like a description of time from the birth of Christ to the middle of the tribulation for Israel not including the last 2,000 years age of grace.
I assume the time of the gentiles end with the rapture and things revert back to Israel as the center of God dealing with earth. That a remnant of faithful Israel will be protected by God might be seen with eagles wings

Act 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Act 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

God is love and loves all people but one day He has to end sin on earth.
So He is giving the world 7 years to have their way for all people who love not the truth to go against the truth.
A man will negotiate peace in the Middle East resulting in a 7 years peace treaty which is a peace treaty for the world for they chose sides and to stop warring in the world.
Which the nations will come together to work for peace on earth.
It will pave the way for all Hebrews to go to Israel for the world will make it happen.
He will then push his agenda.
The first 3.5 years the world goes by a system contrary to the operation of God.
They try to stop anything that is contrary to their system which exalts people and there is no personal God.
Salvation is still available to the world.
At the end of that time the transgressors have come to the full the peak of their rebellion being influenced by that man.
Then he claims to be God.
Which the Bible calls him the antichrist but the new age calls him the New Age Christ.
When the Gentiles take the mark of the beast the fulness of the Gentiles have come in which salvation is no longer available to them.
God will then send Israel two witnesses to turn them to the truth for the last 3.5 years.
And the world persecutes all people who oppose their system for 3.5 years.
That is the 7 years period.
Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
Woman- Israel.

7.10 horn kingdom the world divided in to 10 sections with a leader in each section covering the earth.
The 10 horns is the 7th head and the physical dominion of the beast kingdom.

In chapter 12 the crowns are on the heads.
Satan in the spiritual realm deceiving people by the 7 kingdoms.
In chapter 13 the crowns are on the horns.
Satan in the physical realm deceiving people as the antichrist.
Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Jesus who will rule the world.
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Israel is protected for the first three and one half years.

Funny you should begin this thread at the same time I was studying that passage on the thread entitled
"How do angels jibe with the Holy Spirit". The central meaning is Christ's crucifixion.
Revelation 12 is an overview of the end of the age of the gentiles when Jerusalem above, the mother of us all, gives birth to the 144,000 who are firsfruits of the dominion that results from the defeat of satan and his ejection from heaven.

Standing in trust to Father to reveal your security in standing in belief to what is now done for you too, John 19:30. To believe Eph 1:6,7, 13 Accepted, forgiven and sealed by Father to see new and stand in trust no matter whatever troubles happen. see Job who did not deny God at all, denied people, not God. So, ask Father of risen Son to reveal truth to you too and be at rest even though any and all troubles too
